The VEVOR VMP1/2-2" is a seven-piece set of pressing jaws and rings for making crimped pipe connections. It is an accessory for a press tool, not a tool on its own: the jaws, rings and actuator fit onto an electric press tool and close fittings on VMP carbon steel piping. VEVOR sells it for HVAC, gas pipelines and radiant heating work.
What is in the kit
- Three pressing jaws: VMP 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch and 1 inch.
- Three pressing rings: VMP 1-1/4 inch, 1-1/2 inch and 2 inch.
- One 3540-R9 actuator, which drives the rings.
- A PE carrying case that keeps the pieces together.
Small pipe sizes are pressed with jaws, which clamp directly onto the fitting. Larger sizes use rings, and the actuator attaches to the tool to close them.
How press fitting works
A press tool squeezes a fitting onto a pipe so that it forms a sealed joint without soldering or threading. The tool applies a set force while the jaws or ring keep the fitting's shape correct. Jaws and rings are profile-specific, so the profile must match the fitting system you are working with. This kit is made for VMP carbon steel piping.
Rings and the actuator
The rings are used with the 3540-R9 actuator, and VEVOR says this combination allows 180-degree flexible rotation. That adds leverage and helps in tight or confined spaces, such as between joists or along a wall, where a bulky jaw would not fit.
Materials and durability
The jaws are carburized steel with a hardness of 52 HRC or more, which means a hard surface suited to repeated pressing. VEVOR claims 10,000 or more crimps and says the jaws give precise control over pressure and torque. A press life like this depends on correct use and regular cleaning and checking of the jaws.
Tool compatibility
VEVOR lists compatibility with its own 32KN standard electric press tools (PZ-1550, PZ-3240, EB-1550) and with other brands' models: CT-400, RP310, RP310PLUS, RP318, RP320-E, RP330-B, RP330-C, RP340, RP350, RP351 and M18 models. A press tool's force class and jaw interface matter, so match your exact model against this list.
Weight and size
The kit weighs 38.4 lb (about 17.4 kg) and measures 16.3 x 11.6 x 6.1 inches (about 41 x 29 x 15 cm) in its case.
Who it suits
It suits plumbers, HVAC technicians and pipefitters who already own a compatible press tool and need jaws and rings for VMP carbon steel pipe in common sizes.
What to check before you buy
- Your press tool: confirm your exact model is on the list, and that your tool takes these jaws.
- Your pipe system: the jaws are for VMP carbon steel piping; check the fitting profile.
- Sizes: make sure you have each size you need, from 1/2 inch to 2 inch.
- Regulations: gas and heating work often needs qualified installers and approved methods, so follow local codes and the manuals.
- Upkeep: keep jaws clean, check them for wear and keep them in the case.
- Calibration: the tool maker's guidance on servicing intervals applies.
The short version
- A seven-piece VMP press-fitting set: three jaws, three rings and one actuator.
- Covers 1/2 inch to 2 inch VMP carbon steel piping.
- Actuator and rings allow 180-degree rotation for tight spaces.
- Carburized steel jaws at 52 HRC or harder; carrying case included.
- Works with listed VEVOR and other brands' press tools; the tool itself is separate.
