The VEVOR three-station sheet metal brake is a compact hand tool for bending thin sheet steel into straight, clean edges. It is the sort of tool used for flashing, ducting, siding trim and small enclosures. This page explains how its three rollers work, what the thickness and height limits mean, and what to check first.
How the three stations work
A sheet metal brake folds a panel along a straight line. This one uses three roller stations: two V-shaped outer rollers and a centre roller. VEVOR says the three-station layout produces a uniform bend along the length of a straight panel, and that the V-shaped outer rollers reduce errors and travel on and off the material easily.
The centre roller station can be set independently, which VEVOR says allows mild-angled bends on a curve. The bending angle is listed as 0 to 90°.
Bending height and metal thickness
Two numbers decide whether the tool suits a job:
- Bending height: 0.63 to 5.7 inches (16 to 145 mm). This is the width of the flange being folded.
- Material range: steel from 0.3 to 1 mm, which VEVOR gives as 30 to 19 gauge. Gauge numbers run backwards, so a higher number means thinner metal.
The centre roller carries an English and metric depth gauge on one shaft leg, and three large knobs hold the depth setting. Softer metals such as aluminium are generally easier to bend than steel of the same thickness, but only the steel figures come from the listing.
Construction
The body and rollers are made of high-hardness steel, and the handle is aluminum alloy. VEVOR describes the tool as compact and portable. It weighs 10.4 lb (4.7 kg) and measures about 12.6 x 3.7 x 9.8 inches (320 x 95 x 250 mm).
The locking pliers
The box includes a pair of locking pliers with strong teeth and an adjustable screw on the handle to set clamping pressure. VEVOR suggests using them for gripping, twisting, turning and tightening, and they are handy for holding a workpiece while you set up a bend.
Who it suits
The brand lists factories, workshops, family workshops and personal use. In practice, a tool of this size suits roofers, HVAC installers, hobbyists making brackets or covers, and anyone who wants cleaner folds than pliers and a bench edge can give. It is not meant for heavy plate or very long panels.
What to check before you buy
- Metal and thickness: confirm your material falls inside the 0.3 to 1 mm range.
- Flange size: check your required bend height is between 16 and 145 mm.
- Panel length: the tool is compact, so work out how you will bend long panels, and whether you need to work in sections.
- Mounting: read the manual on clamping it to a bench or holding it steady.
- Protective gear: sheet metal edges are sharp; wear gloves and eye protection as usual.
- What's in the box: one brake and one pair of locking pliers.
The short version
- A three-station hand brake for bending sheet steel from 0.3 to 1 mm (30 to 19 gauge).
- Bending angle 0 to 90°; bending height 16 to 145 mm.
- Steel body and rollers, aluminum alloy handle, locking pliers included.
- About 4.7 kg and compact enough to carry between jobs.
- Suited to light sheet metal work rather than heavy plate.
