The VEVOR double folding security gate is a steel accordion-style gate that closes off a doorway, hallway, loading area or shopfront opening while keeping air and sight lines open. It folds back to a narrow stack when you want the opening clear. It is listed for homes as well as commercial and industrial sites.
Size and folding range
VEVOR lists the gate as 150 in wide when fully expanded and about 8 in wide when collapsed. The height is given as 85 in (the title says 87 in, so measure against the product label). The gate weighs around 58-60 lb (about 27 kg). When choosing a size, measure the opening width and height, and allow for the way it folds into the opening or against the wall.
Steel construction
The frame is built from 3/4 in, 14 gauge channel steel with a black powder-coat finish, which VEVOR says improves durability and helps prevent rust. Rivets are zinc-plated to resist corrosion. A lower gauge number means thicker steel, and 14 gauge is a moderately heavy sheet thickness. VEVOR describes a non-interference design intended to guard property and deter unwanted entry.
Rolling casters
Casters on the bottom swing through 360° and have a locking brake. This lets the gate roll open or closed and then stay where it is. The folding sides can be held open for a clear passage or closed fully. Rolling gates also make it easier to move or put away the gate if it is not fixed in one place.
Lock and mounting
A hasp is built in for a padlock. The listing says the kit includes a padlock with keys (three keys in the description) and a set of mounting tools. VEVOR says the gate can be recess-mounted or surface-mounted, drilling into concrete or cement walls. If your wall is brick, timber or drywall, you will need suitable fixings, and the manual should be followed.
Where it suits
The listing mentions basements, garages and shopfronts, and says the gate is good for controlling access to hallways and receiving doors without blocking air flow or visibility. An open lattice is useful where you want ventilation, such as a garage or a storage bay.
What to check before you buy
- Opening size: measure width and height, and compare against the gate's expanded and collapsed sizes.
- Mounting surface: concrete suits the supplied approach; other walls need different fixings.
- Floor: casters roll best on a level, smooth surface.
- Clearance: allow room for the folded stack when open.
- Locks and rules: check local fire and building codes, particularly for escape routes.
- Upkeep: touch up any chipped powder coat to protect the steel.
