VEVOR 110V Electric Hoist with Remote: features, specs and who it suits

A 480W, 110V electric hoist with a 14 ft wired remote, single and double line lifting up to 440 lbs, and four built-in safety features. What the specs mean.

The VEVOR electric hoist is a compact 110V winch-style hoist for raising and lowering loads from a ceiling or beam. It replaces hauling things up by hand in a garage, workshop, warehouse or attic, and a wired remote lets the operator stand back from the load. Here is what its specs mean and what to confirm before relying on it.

Single line or double line lifting

The hoist has two lifting modes. In single line mode, VEVOR rates it at 220 lbs at 32 ft per minute, with a maximum height of 39.4 ft. In double line mode, the cable runs through a pulley at the hook, which doubles the rated capacity to 440 lbs. The trade-off is speed and reach: 16 ft per minute and 19.7 ft of height.

This is how most pulley systems work. Doubling the line halves the load on each strand, but you need twice as much cable for the same lift, so travel is slower and shorter. Pick the mode from the weight of the load and the height you need, and never exceed the rated figure for the mode in use.

Motor and cooling

The motor is rated at 480W, and VEVOR describes it as a copper motor with a large cooling fan to limit overheating. Hoist motors are typically built for intermittent use rather than continuous running, so the manual's duty-cycle guidance is worth reading. Running on 110V means it plugs into a standard household outlet, which suits garages and home workshops that don't have heavier supply.

Cable, hook and body

The cable is braided steel, described as a 19-strand thickened wire rope, and the hook is metal. The body is steel. VEVOR also lists an anti-spin rope feature, intended to stop the cable twisting as it winds. A 13 ft lifting sling strap and a 3.2 ft shaft belt with a metal ring are included.

The remote and the safety features

The 14 ft wired remote lets you control the hoist from a distance, so you can watch the load rather than the machine. VEVOR lists four safety features:

  • Emergency stop button: cuts the motion immediately.
  • Limit switch: typically stops the cable at the end of its travel.
  • Auto brake: holds the load when the button is released.
  • Anti-spin rope: keeps the cable from twisting.

These features support safe use, but they don't replace good practice. Always follow the manual, keep people clear of the load, and use the hoist only for the purposes it describes.

Installing it

VEVOR says the hoist hangs from a ceiling or beam using its mounting brackets, in two steps. The structure you hang it from matters as much as the hoist: it must be able to carry the full load plus the hoist itself. If you're unsure, ask a qualified person to check the beam or ceiling mount.

Who it suits

It suits home garages, workshops, attics, small warehouses and building sites where loads of up to a few hundred pounds need to be lifted regularly, such as engines parts, materials or heavy boxes. VEVOR lists it for both professionals and hobbyists.

What to check before you buy

  • Weight of your loads: compare them with 220 lbs (single line) and 440 lbs (double line), and leave a margin.
  • Height needed: 39.4 ft in single line mode, 19.7 ft in double line mode.
  • Mounting point: confirm the beam or ceiling can carry the load and the hoist.
  • Power: a 110V outlet within reach, and an extension cord rated for the load if one is needed.
  • Duty cycle: how long and how often you'll run it, as set out in the manual.
  • What's in the box: the sling strap, shaft belt and remote are listed; check the contents against your plan.

The short version

  • A 110V, 480W electric hoist with a braided steel cable.
  • 220 lbs at 32 ft/min (single line) or 440 lbs at 16 ft/min (double line).
  • 14 ft wired remote with an emergency stop, limit switch, auto brake and anti-spin rope.
  • Ceiling or beam mounting, with a sling strap and shaft belt included.
  • Always follow the manual and local rules for lifting equipment.
