The Creality Rotary Kit Pro is a Y-axis rotary attachment for laser engravers. It rotates a round object under the laser so the machine can engrave around a cylinder, ball or ring, which a flat bed cannot do. Typical projects are tumblers, cans, wine glasses and jewellery.
What a rotary attachment does
A laser engraver normally moves its head along the X and Y axes over a flat surface. A rotary attachment replaces the Y-axis movement with a motor that turns the object, while the head moves along X. The software then wraps the design around the item. Creality says this kit runs from the engraver's Y-axis motor connection.
The 3-in-1 jaw set
The jaws grip objects in three ways, with Creality giving these ranges:
- Clamp from the outside: cylindrical objects 1-110 mm across, such as cans and thermos flasks.
- Prop from the inside: cylindrical objects 25-75 mm across, such as wine glasses.
- Hex stud: spheres 10-130 mm across, and rings, bracelets and other circular items 15-100 mm across.
The outer jaws are high-density plastic, which Creality says holds the object tightly without damaging the surface. The kit comes with the outside clamp already fitted.
Precision and support
Creality quotes an engraving accuracy of up to 0.1 mm. A flexible tensioner and a rear support module hold longer objects steady, and the kit is designed to work with high-torque motors. The maximum engraving speed varies by engraver model, according to the brand. The body is a one-piece aluminium alloy, and the kit measures about 14.0 x 4.2 x 5.9 inches.
Setup
No assembly is needed. Connect the cable to the engraver's Y-axis motor port, switch the machine on and connect your computer. After that you set the relevant parameters in your engraving software so that the design maps to the object's size. Expect to test on a spare item first.
Compatibility
Creality says the kit works with the Falcon and Falcon2 series and with about 95% of the laser engravers on the market. That is a general claim, so confirm your own model before ordering.
Who it suits
It suits hobbyists and small makers who already own a laser engraver and want to personalize drinkware, balls, rings and other round items.
What to check before you buy
- Engraver compatibility: confirm your model has a Y-axis motor connection that matches the cable and software.
- Object size: check that your items fall within the jaw ranges above.
- Software settings: look for a guide for your engraver's software, since rotary mode needs diameter and step settings.
- Material: make sure your laser can mark the material, such as coated metal or glass.
- Laser safety: follow the engraver manual on eye protection and ventilation.
The short version
