The Creality Falcon Pro is a desktop diode laser engraver in the company's 10W class, built for engraving and cutting craft materials such as wood, leather, paper and acrylic. It adds a control box, air assist and a rotary roller kit to the basic 10W design, and Creality positions it for beginners as well as for experienced makers.
What 10W and 72,000mW mean
The listing refers both to a "10W" machine and to a 72,000mW output, which is 72W. Those numbers describe different things: 10W is the optical output Creality uses for the laser's class, while 72W is typically the electrical input the unit draws. Optical output is the figure that matters for how deep a laser can cut or how fast it can mark. Creality says the machine cuts paper, wood, leather, plastic and dark acrylic, and engraves most everyday items, including metal and glass.
Focus and detail
The brand says an improved 6-lens array focuses the beam to a 0.06 mm spot. A smaller spot generally means finer lines and crisper small text or illustrations, and Creality gives engraving pet hair patterns and fine art as examples. Laser engravers usually work best on dark or matte surfaces. Clear glass and shiny metal often need a coating or marking spray, so follow the manual's guidance.
Air assist
A built-in air-assist device blows a stream of air across the cut point. It clears smoke and debris, which helps keep the surface clean and lowers the chance of flare-ups when cutting wood. Creality says this gives neat results in one pass. A riser is also in the package, which lifts the machine to allow thicker or taller items.
Rotary roller
The 3-in-1 rotary roller kit is meant for round objects such as tumblers, glasses and rings. A roller turns the item while the laser engraves, so the design wraps around the surface. Check which diameters the roller supports before you buy a specific tumbler.
Controls and file transfer
In offline mode, a single button handles preview, start, pause and stop, and an LED indicator shows the machine's status. A TF (microSD) card lets you load a file without connecting a computer. You will still use design software on a computer or phone to prepare artwork and settings first.
Safety features
The machine is labelled Class IIIa and has an emergency stop button, a laser protection cover and a safety lock. Creality also lists an active stop function. Lasers can damage eyes and start fires, so always follow the manual, wear laser-rated eye protection, never leave it running unattended, and ventilate the room, since engraving produces fumes. Do not cut materials that release harmful fumes, such as many PVC plastics.
Size
It measures about 24.2 x 12.2 x 7.7 inches (61 x 31 x 20 cm) and weighs 11.2 lb (about 5.1 kg). Creality says it is easy to assemble and light enough to move between rooms.
Who it suits
It suits craft hobbyists, small makers who personalize items, and beginners who want a built-in cover and a stop button. It is a compact machine, so large sheets are beyond its work area.
What to check before you buy
- Work area: check the engraving area against the size of the pieces you plan to make.
- Materials: confirm that your materials are suitable for laser cutting, and avoid those that release toxic fumes.
- Ventilation: plan an exhaust route for smoke and odour.
- Software: make sure you are comfortable with the design software it works with.
- Eye protection: check that you have suitable laser goggles.
