The Creality Falcon Pro 10W is a desktop laser engraver and cutter with a 10 W output, built-in air assist and extra safety features. It is aimed at beginners and hobbyists who want to cut and engrave materials such as wood, leather and acrylic. This page covers what each feature does and what to check before you begin.
What the Pro version adds
Creality describes the Pro as keeping the cutting performance of the basic 10 W model while adding a control box, stronger air assist and more safety features. It also has simpler assembly. If you have seen the standard Falcon 10W, the visible differences are the air-assist system, the control box and the safety hardware.
Air assist
Air assist blows a stream of air at the point where the laser meets the material. In general, this clears smoke and debris, reduces flare-ups and gives cleaner edges, especially when cutting wood. Creality says the built-in device gives neat results in one pass. You still need good ventilation, since smoke has to go somewhere.
10W output and materials
Creality says the 10 W output cuts paper, wood, leather, plastic and dark acrylic, and engraves most everyday items, including metal and glass. Diode lasers typically work best on dark, opaque materials, mark metal rather than cut it, and struggle with clear or light-coloured acrylic. Test on offcuts first and check the manual for materials to avoid.
Precision
An improved six-lens array focuses the beam to a 0.06 mm spot. A smaller spot generally lets you reproduce finer lines and detail, whether that's a photograph, a pattern or lettering.
Safety features
Creality lists an emergency stop button, a laser protection cover, a safety lock design and an active stop function. These reduce risk, but they don't remove it. Wear laser-rated eye protection suited to the wavelength, never leave the machine running unattended, keep the area clear of flammable items, and follow the manual.
One-button operation and TF card
In offline mode, a single button handles preview, start, pause and stop, and an LED indicator shows the status. You can import a file using a TF card, so no computer needs to be connected. That makes it handy for a workshop, garage or somewhere without a laptop.
Size
It measures about 12.2 x 24.2 x 7.7 inches and weighs 11.2 lb. Check the work area in the manual for the largest piece you can process.
What to check before you buy
- Materials: confirm they suit a 10 W diode laser, and avoid anything the manual warns about.
- Ventilation: plan how smoke will leave the room.
- Safety gear: eye protection and a fire extinguisher close by.
- Software: which design programs and file formats the machine supports.
- Surface: a stable, non-flammable table with enough room.
- Upkeep: lens cleaning and checking the air-assist hose, as described in the manual.
