The Soundcore AeroFit Pro (model A3871) is a pair of open-ear wireless headphones. They sit just outside the ear canal on a flexible ear hook, so music plays while you can still hear traffic, announcements and the people around you. Soundcore adds LDAC support, a larger driver and a long battery. Here is what the specs mean.

What open-ear means

Sealed earbuds block the ear canal, which isolates you from outside sound. Open-ear headphones leave the canal clear, so they typically leak a little more sound at high volume and produce less bass, and they do not offer noise cancelling. Soundcore describes the Air Conduction design as natural and breathable, and as a way to stay aware of surroundings.

Sound and LDAC

The drivers are listed as 16.2 mm with a titanium-coated diaphragm. Soundcore also lists LDAC, a Bluetooth audio codec that sends roughly three times more data than the standard SBC codec, which the brand says gives richer sound. LDAC works only when your phone or player supports it, and Android phones commonly do. If your device does not, the headphones fall back to another codec. Bluetooth 5.3 is the connection standard. The app is there for controls, and you can check what settings it offers.

Battery and fast charging

Soundcore lists 14 hours of music on one charge, rising to 46 hours with the charging case. A rapid charge gives 5.5 hours of playback in 10 minutes, according to the brand. Battery life depends on volume and codec, and LDAC typically uses more power than standard codecs.

Fit and materials

The ear hooks use 0.7 mm titanium memory wire with soft outer materials. Memory wire returns to shape after being bent, which helps the headphones stay in place. Fit matters more with open-ear designs than with ear tips, so consider how they sit with glasses, hats or helmets. Dimensions are 2.1 x 1.6 x 0.7 inches for each unit.

Sweat and water

The listing describes IP55 and IPX5 water resistance with SweatGuard. IPX5 means protection against water jets from any direction, which covers sweat and rain. It does not cover submersion, so keep them out of the pool. The listing uses both IP55 and IPX5, so look at the manual for the exact level of protection.

Who it suits

It suits runners, cyclists and walkers who want to hear their surroundings, people who work with others around them, and listeners with an Android phone who want to use LDAC. People who want noise isolation or strong bass may prefer a sealed design.

What to check before you buy

  • Codec support: confirm that your phone supports LDAC if that matters to you.
  • Awareness and safety: keep the volume at a sensible level and follow local rules about headphones on the road.
  • Fit: the hook sits over the ear, so check it with glasses and head gear.
  • Sound leak: others nearby may hear you at high volume.
  • Care: wipe sweat off after exercise and follow the manual's care steps.
  • Charging: check the case, the cable and the app.
