The Soundcore AeroFit 2 (model A3874) is a pair of wireless open-ear headphones. Instead of sealing the ear canal like regular earbuds, the speakers sit just outside it, held in place by ear hooks. That keeps you aware of traffic, announcements and conversation while music plays.
What "open-ear" actually means
An open-ear design points sound toward the ear canal from a short distance rather than plugging it. Soundcore describes the AeroFit 2 as having a soft, non-invasive, double-curved shape intended for all-day wear and for staying attuned to your surroundings.
The trade-off is typical of the category. Because nothing blocks outside sound, open-ear headphones generally let in more background noise than sealed earbuds, and some of the music can be audible to people very close by. They suit people who value awareness over isolation.
Adjustable ear hooks and fit
Soundcore says the four-level adjustable ear hooks fit "over 99% of ear shapes and sizes". Fit matters more here than with sealed earbuds, because position determines how much bass reaches you. The brand says the hooks bring the drivers closer to the ear canal, with a maximum 7.5 dB bass boost compared with non-adjustable hooks.
Sound and drivers
Each side uses a 20 mm × 11.5 mm racetrack-shaped driver with the brand's BassTurbo acoustics. The AeroFit 2 supports LDAC, a Bluetooth codec that can carry more data than the standard one, which is how Hi-Res wireless audio is delivered. You need a source device that also supports LDAC to benefit, and LDAC is typically found on many Android phones.
Battery and charging
Soundcore rates the earbuds at up to 10 hours of music on a single charge, extendable to 42 hours using the charging case. The case can be recharged by placing it on a wireless charger, which means no cable is required. Bluetooth 5.4 handles the connection.
Calls, translation and durability
The model name mentions AI Clear Calls, intended to improve voice pickup on calls. The listing also advertises free AI translation, said to support more than 100 languages with real-time response. Soundcore notes that this requires app version 3.8.7 or later and the latest earbud firmware, so plan on updating both before relying on it. The IP55 classification indicates protection against dust and water jets to a degree; it is not a promise of submersion.
Who it suits
Open-ear headphones tend to appeal to runners and cyclists who want to hear their surroundings, office workers who need to hear colleagues, and anyone who finds sealed earbuds uncomfortable over long periods. If you want strong isolation on a plane or a loud train, a noise-cancelling pair is a better match for that job.
