The Reolink Video Doorbell WiFi is a wired camera doorbell that records in 2K and connects to your home network. It shows who is at the door on your phone and lets you speak to them. A plug-in indoor chime is included. Here is what the specs mean and what to confirm before installing one.

2K picture day and night

The doorbell records at 2K, which Reolink says is helped by HDR and 3D noise reduction, plus distortion correction. HDR balances bright and dark areas in one frame, which helps with a sunlit porch or a shadowed doorway. Noise reduction cleans up the grain that appears in low light, so images stay usable after dark.

The 4:3 wide view

The camera uses a 4:3 aspect ratio with a 180° viewing angle. A 4:3 picture is taller than widescreen, so it shows more of the ground, where parcels usually land. A 15° wedge kit is included to angle the doorbell sideways if your door sits in a recess or the view needs adjusting.

Wi-Fi and weather

It connects on 2.4 and 5GHz Wi-Fi. In general, 5GHz is faster and 2.4GHz travels further, so the choice helps with a weak signal at the front door. The doorbell is described as waterproof, so it is built for outdoor use; check the manual for the exact weatherproofing level and mounting directions.

The included Chime V2

The Chime V2 plugs into any electrical socket in the house. You can choose from 10 tunes and adjust the volume, so you hear the doorbell wherever you are at home.

Talking to visitors

A built-in microphone and speaker give you two-way audio, even when you are away. You can also set preset voice messages or automatic replies for times when you are busy.

Power

This is a hardwired model, powered by 12-24VAC at 50/60Hz or 24V DC. Reolink recommends pairing it with the Reolink Chime, a Reolink NVR system and its other accessories for the best compatibility. Doorbell wiring varies by home, so check your transformer's voltage first, and follow local codes and the manual. If in doubt, ask a qualified electrician.

Smart alerts

Real-time notifications tell you when someone is at the door. Event-triggered spotlights can be scheduled to switch on at night. A free Rich Notification plan, as Reolink describes it, sends up to 25 image notifications a day.

Who it suits

It suits homes that already have doorbell wiring, or where a wired install is practical, and where a wide view of the porch and doorstep matters.

What to check before you buy

  • Wiring: confirm that your transformer supplies 12-24VAC or 24V DC.
  • Wi-Fi: test the signal at your front door.
  • Position: a recessed door may need the 15° wedge kit.
  • Storage: check how recordings are saved and what you need to add.
  • Size: it measures about 4.2 x 6.4 x 6.6 in (11 x 16 x 17 cm) and weighs 1.5 lb (about 0.7 kg).
