The HAPPRUN H11 is a compact home projector with a built-in smart TV system. It aims to replace a TV in a bedroom or living room, and to move outdoors for movie nights, without a separate streaming box.

Resolution and brightness

The H11 has native 1080P (1920 x 1080) resolution and a brightness of 400 ANSI lumens. ANSI lumens are a standardised way of measuring brightness, and they are usually lower than the "lumens" figures some makers quote. In general, 400 ANSI lumens suits a dim or dark room; daylight or bright rooms wash out the picture unless the screen is small or the curtains are drawn.

HAPPRUN says the projector can produce a picture up to 200 inches, using a six-layer glass lens that keeps images sharp and even to the edges. Image size depends on distance, and larger images look dimmer.

Setting up the picture

Two features help with placement. Electric focus lets you sharpen the image with one touch instead of turning a ring by hand. 4P keystone correction adjusts the four corners of the picture, so it can be squared up on a wall even when the projector sits at an angle. Digital correction can slightly reduce sharpness, so placing the projector straight on is still best.

Built-in smart system

The projector has a smart OS and dual-band 5G/2.4G Wi-Fi. HAPPRUN says it provides access to licensed streaming apps, including one it describes as officially licensed, so no extra device is needed. App availability and sign-in requirements can change, so check the current list. You can also cast from mobile devices.

Sound and Bluetooth

Dolby Audio is listed for the built-in speaker. Two-way Bluetooth means the projector can send sound to headphones, soundbars or speakers, and can also act as a Bluetooth speaker for a phone. HAPPRUN says a complimentary Bluetooth speaker comes in the package.

Cooling and support

The brand says an efficient cooling system helps with heat and dust, aiming to prevent common problems such as discoloured pictures. It also promises ongoing customer support. The projector weighs about 4.5 lb (roughly 2 kg).

Who it suits

It suits movie nights, casual gaming, a bedroom or student room, and occasional outdoor use where there is power and a screen or light-coloured wall. It is not designed to compete with a bright-room TV.

What to check before you buy

  • Room light: 400 ANSI lumens works best with the lights low.
  • Screen or wall: a smooth, light-coloured surface helps.
  • Distance: make sure the room allows the throw distance for the size you want.
  • Apps: confirm the streaming services you use are available.
  • Power: outdoor use still needs a power source, as the manual describes.
  • Audio: decide whether the built-in sound is enough or you will pair another speaker.

The short version

  • A native 1080P smart projector rated at 400 ANSI lumens.
  • Electric focus, 4P keystone correction and images up to 200 inches.
  • Dual-band Wi-Fi, two-way Bluetooth and Dolby Audio.
  • Includes a Bluetooth speaker, according to HAPPRUN.
  • Best in dim rooms and at moderate screen sizes.
