The eufy Security Video Doorbell C30 is a battery-powered video doorbell that shows who is at your door on your phone. It records in 2K and stores footage locally on a microSD card. This listing is for a renewed unit, so it has been previously owned and refurbished.
What 2K and a 16:9 view give you
eufy describes the picture as 2K Full HD, which has more detail than standard 1080p video and helps when you want to recognise a face or read a parcel label. The image is 16:9 widescreen, which eufy says gives a wider view of the whole front door area than the tall, narrow framing used on some doorbells. A wider view can show packages left on the step.
Battery power and easy installation
The doorbell has a built-in 5,000 mAh battery, so it doesn't need wiring into your existing doorbell circuit. You can mount it wherever suits, including rental properties or doors where running wires is awkward. The trade-off is that a battery eventually needs recharging, and how often depends on how many visitors and motion events you get and on the weather.
Talking to visitors
When someone presses the button, you get a pop-up video call on your phone. If you aren't home, you can set quick replies or ask visitors to leave a voice memo. eufy notes that video calling is currently supported for standalone use, with a HomeBase 3 version expected later. Check the current status with the brand before relying on it.
Local storage
Recordings go to a microSD card inside the doorbell, up to 128 GB. eufy says this means no subscription is needed and that you keep control of your footage. Because the card sits in the doorbell, footage is only as safe as the doorbell itself, so consider that when choosing where to mount it.
Smart home compatibility
The C30 is listed as compatible with the eufy HomeBase S380 and works with Alexa and Google Assistant devices. The eufy Minibase Chime (T8023) can currently be used only as an indoor chime through the app's doorbell settings.
Who it suits
It suits households that want a doorbell camera without rewiring, people who prefer local storage, and those already in the eufy ecosystem. As a renewed product, it also suits anyone happy with a refurbished item.
