The eufy Security Wireless Video Doorbell S220 (model T8210) is an add-on camera doorbell. It is sold without a base station and is designed to connect to a eufy HomeBase that you already own. It shows who is at the door in 2K video and can run on a battery or from wired power.
2K video
The doorbell has a 2K sensor and what eufy calls a professional-grade lens. 2K video has more pixels than standard 1080p, which in general gives more detail when you zoom into a face or a parcel label. eufy describes it as 2.5 times the clarity. Actual picture quality still depends on lighting, the camera's position and your network connection.
A 4:3 view from head to toe
Many doorbells use a wide 16:9 picture. This one has a 4:3 aspect ratio, which is taller, so it can show a visitor from head to toe and also a parcel on the doorstep. eufy says it suits monitoring entrances and detecting motion.
Battery or wired power
You can choose how it is powered. eufy says that one charge lasts up to six months, or you can connect it to continuous wired power. Battery life depends on how often the doorbell is triggered, the temperature and the settings, so treat six months as the brand's best-case figure. Wired power suits busy doorways where you don't want to recharge.
It needs a HomeBase
The key requirement is that this is an add-on. It needs a HomeBase, which is not included. eufy lists compatibility with HomeBase 1, 2, 3 and E, though one feature line says it requires a HomeBase 2, so check the exact combination with eufy before you buy. Once paired, the doorbell works alongside other eufy cameras as part of one system.
Setup
eufy describes self-installation with simple instructions and no need for a professional. As with any doorbell, you will need to choose a mounting position, check your wireless coverage and follow the manual for the wired option.
Size
The listing's dimensions look like packaging measurements (140 x 54 x 28 inches, which cannot be the device itself), so check the product page for the doorbell's real size. The weight is given as 1.1 lb (about 0.5 kg).
Who it suits
It suits households that already have a eufy HomeBase and want to add a doorbell camera. If you don't have a HomeBase, you will need to add one.
What to check before you buy
- HomeBase: confirm you own a compatible one (1, 2, 3 or E) and which model the doorbell needs.
- Power: decide between battery and wired power, and check your doorbell wiring if wired.
- Wi-Fi range: the base station needs a good signal to the door.
- Privacy rules: local rules may cover recording of public areas and neighbours.
- Fit: check your door frame has space for the mount.
