The Blackview BV7300 is a rugged Android 14 smartphone built for outdoor work, camping and rough handling. Its main features are a very large 15,000 mAh battery, dust and water resistance, and built-in lights on the back. Here is what the listing's figures mean and what to confirm before choosing it.
Built to take knocks
Blackview lists IP68 and IP69K protection. IP68 means dust-tight and protected against continuous immersion; the brand specifies 1.5 m for 30 minutes. IP69K adds resistance to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, a standard used for industrial equipment. Blackview also lists drop resistance from 1.5 m and 360° dust protection. Rugged phones are typically thicker and heavier than regular ones, and the listing gives a weight of around 2 lb (0.9 kg) including packaging.
The 15,000 mAh battery
The battery is about three times the size of those in many mainstream phones. Blackview quotes 57 days of standby and 56.5 hours of calls. Those are lab-style figures, so everyday use will differ with screen time and signal. The brand also lists 45 W charging and automatic brightness to save power.
Camping lights
Two 800-lumen lights sit on the back. Blackview lists lighting, SOS and quick-flash modes, adjustable brightness, three light colours and a timer. They make the phone act as a lantern or work light, and an SOS flash is a signalling aid, not a replacement for proper emergency gear.
Cameras
- 50 MP main camera.
- 20 MP night vision camera, which Blackview says helps in very dim conditions.
- 32 MP front camera with face unlock and a fill light.
- 1080p video recording.
Screen, processor and software
The screen is 6.67 inches, IPS, with 720 x 1604 resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate that adapts between 60 and 90 Hz. That is HD+, not Full HD, so text is less sharp than on higher-resolution phones. Glove mode helps in cold weather.
An octa-core processor is paired with 6 GB of physical RAM and 12 GB of virtual RAM, giving the 18 GB figure on the box. Virtual RAM borrows storage space and is not the same as physical memory. Storage starts at 256 GB and, according to Blackview, is expandable up to 2 TB. It runs DokeOS 4.0, based on Android 14, and includes AI chat and voice tools.
Connectivity
The BV7300 has dual-SIM 4G, NFC, a fingerprint sensor and GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and Beidou positioning. Blackview lists compatibility with GSM-based carriers and says it does not work with CDMA carriers such as AT&T, Cricket, Verizon, Straight Talk or U.S. Cellular. It is an unlocked phone, and it only works on networks that support its listed bands.
Who it suits
It suits tradespeople, hikers, campers and anyone who wants long battery life and a tough body. It is less suited to people who want a slim phone or the sharpest screen.
What to check before you buy
- Carrier: confirm your carrier uses the listed LTE bands and is not CDMA-only.
- Size and weight: a 15,000 mAh battery makes the phone bulky; check it fits your pocket.
- Charger: check what is in the box for 45 W charging.
- Memory card: check the card type the slot accepts for expansion.
- Software updates: ask the brand how long updates will be provided.
- Water use: follow the manual before submerging it or cleaning the ports.
