The Blackview BL7000 is a rugged 5G smartphone built for people who work or play where an ordinary phone would not last: building sites, workshops, trails and wet weather. It pairs a large 6.78-inch screen and a 7500mAh battery with a sealed, shock-resistant body. Here is what its main specs mean and what to confirm before choosing it.
Built to take knocks, dust and water
Blackview says the BL7000 is built to MIL-STD-810H, a US military test standard that covers things like drops, vibration and temperature extremes. It also lists IP68 and IP69K protection. In general, IP68 means a phone is sealed against dust and can be submerged in water, and IP69K adds resistance to close-range, high-pressure water jets. Blackview states the phone is waterproof to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes, and that the screen is covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Protection levels like these describe controlled lab conditions. Seals can wear over time, so it is sensible to keep ports and covers closed and to follow the manual on rinsing and drying.
The screen: size, refresh rate and glove mode
The display measures 6.78 inches with a 2460 x 1080 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. A higher refresh rate makes scrolling and animations look smoother, and Blackview says the rate adapts on the fly to save power. The listing also mentions glove mode, which adjusts touch sensitivity so the screen still responds when you wear work gloves, and a built-in toolkit with a compass and flashlight.
Processor, memory and software
Inside is a MediaTek Dimensity 6300, a mid-range 5G chip. Blackview quotes up to 24GB of RAM, of which 16GB is virtual RAM, meaning storage space borrowed to extend memory. The physical memory is therefore smaller than the headline figure, and virtual RAM typically helps with keeping apps open rather than adding raw speed. Storage is 256GB, expandable to 2TB with a memory card.
The phone ships with Android 15 and Blackview's own Doke OS 4.1 layer, which adds AI features such as smart Q&A, voice chat and image editing tools, plus Android's private space and sensitive-notification controls.
Cameras
The rear system has a 50MP main camera and a 20MP night-vision camera, with a 32MP front camera for selfies. Night-vision modes on phones generally combine a sensitive sensor with processing to brighten dark scenes, so results depend on the conditions.
Battery and charging
The 7500mAh battery is large for a phone, and Blackview says it supports up to 12 hours of gaming or video playback. With 33W fast charging, it quotes about 40% in 30 minutes. OTG reverse charging lets the phone act as a small power bank for earbuds, a watch or another phone through a suitable cable.
Connectivity and who it suits
The BL7000 supports dual SIM, 5G, NFC for contactless payments, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and fingerprint and face unlock. It measures 6.9 x 3.2 x 0.7 inches and weighs 0.8 lb, so it is noticeably thicker and heavier than a slim phone.
It suits tradespeople, hikers, hunters and anyone who is hard on their phone, and people who value battery life over a thin profile.
What to check before you buy
- Carrier compatibility: Blackview says it is not compatible with CDMA carriers. Confirm that your network supports the phone's bands before buying.
- Size and weight: hold a similar-sized device first if you prefer a slim phone in a pocket.
- Memory: note that much of the quoted RAM is virtual.
- Charger and cables: check what is in the box, and whether your cables support OTG charging.
- Warranty: Blackview mentions a two-year guarantee; read the terms.
