The ASUS TUF Gaming GT301 is a compact mid-tower case for ATX motherboards. It combines a perforated honeycomb front panel for airflow with a tempered-glass side panel, and it comes with four 120mm fans already fitted, so it works as a ready-to-build home for a gaming PC.
Airflow and fans
A case needs a steady flow of cool air in and warm air out. The honeycomb front panel is perforated so air can pass through it, and removable dust filters help limit dust. ASUS fits three 120mm Aura Sync addressable RGB fans and one 120mm rear fan, with up to six fan-mounting points. In general, intake fans at the front and an exhaust at the rear give the front-to-back path most builds use.
Water-cooling support
ASUS reserves space for 280mm or 360mm radiators at the front and a 120mm radiator at the rear. That suits an all-in-one liquid cooler. A radiator's size must match both the case and the cooler, so check clearance with your specific parts.
Lighting
An integrated six-port Aura Sync addressable-RGB controller hub, plus a dedicated front-panel button, controls the lighting effects. Addressable RGB means each LED can show its own colour, which allows effects that move through the fans.
Storage
The case offers mounting for up to two hard drives (trays included) and six SSD locations. Two dedicated SSD brackets are included, and one location sits on the power supply shroud. A shroud hides the power supply and cabling at the bottom.
Front panel and details
The front panel has USB 3.2 ports. A headphone hook can hang on either side of the case, a small touch aimed at gamers.
Size
The case measures about 19.3 x 14.4 x 20.5 inches (roughly 49 x 37 x 52 cm) as listed, and weighs 15.9 lb (about 7.2 kg), which may include packaging. The tempered glass adds weight, so move it with care.
Who it suits
It suits builders who want a compact ATX tower with visible internals, RGB fans and room for a liquid cooler. Those who prefer a quiet build with solid panels may prefer a different design, because mesh fronts let more fan noise out.
What to check before you buy
- Motherboard size: confirm your board fits (ATX is listed).
- Graphics card and cooler clearance: check the maximum card length and CPU cooler height on ASUS's specifications page.
- Radiator fit: check the radiator and fan thickness against the space reserved.
- Power supply: confirm the PSU size and cable length suit the shroud.
- RGB header: check your motherboard's RGB headers if you want to sync lighting.
- Handling: the glass panel can break, so lift and install with care.
