The ASUS A31 (model A31 TG White) is an ATX mid-tower PC case built around a glass-fronted, glass-sided showcase look. It is aimed at people building a gaming or enthusiast PC who want a tidy interior and room for a large graphics card and a 360mm liquid cooler. Here is what its features mean and what to confirm before choosing it.
A pillar-free glass view
The A31 uses tempered glass on two sides, and ASUS describes the design as frameless and pillar-free. In many cases a vertical support runs at the corner where the two panels meet; leaving it out gives an unobstructed view of the components. Tempered glass is heavier than a plastic or acrylic window and resists scratching better, so expect a case that weighs more than a plain steel one. The listing gives the full case weight as 18.1 lb (about 8.2 kg), before any parts are installed.
Hidden connectors and cable management
The case supports ASUS's BTF (Back-To-The-Future) approach, in which the connectors sit behind the motherboard tray so the power and data cables stay out of sight. ASUS says all modular cables are concealed behind the motherboard and line up with the hidden connectors. This only works with parts that use the matching connector layout, so it is worth checking that your motherboard and graphics card are designed for it. A standard motherboard can still be fitted in an ATX case, but then the cables route in the usual way.
There is a dedicated cable cover and 34mm of space behind the motherboard tray. More depth there generally makes it easier to bundle and tie down cables without bulging the side panel. ASUS also mentions colour-matched modular cables for a uniform look.
Cooling and the angled base
The A31 supports a 360mm all-in-one (AIO) liquid cooler, which means a radiator with three 120mm fans. ASUS states that it handles AIO coolers with up to 80mm of clearance, which matters because radiator thickness plus fans can add up. The listing names RTX 5090 and 4090 cards as compatible, and these are large, so it still makes sense to compare the card's listed length against the case's stated clearance.
The base is angled at 8 degrees, which ASUS calls a "golden angle". The company says the tilt improves airflow and widens the viewing angle, and that it makes the ARGB lighting effects stand out more. ARGB means individually addressable RGB, so lighting can show colour patterns rather than a single colour.
Who it suits
It suits builders who want a white, display-style PC with a clean interior, especially if they plan on a high-end graphics card and a 360mm radiator. It is a mainstream ATX build, so people working with small form factor parts or with a need for extensive drive bays should look closely at the full specifications first.
What to check before you buy
- Motherboard and parts: confirm whether your motherboard and graphics card use the BTF-style hidden connectors, or whether you will use standard cabling.
- Graphics card size: compare the card's length and thickness with the case's published limits.
- Cooler fit: check the radiator size and thickness, including fans, against the 80mm clearance ASUS lists.
- Power supply: confirm that your power supply fits and that its cables match the hidden connector layout.
- Desk space: the case measures roughly 20.1 x 17.1 x 9.3 inches (51 x 43 x 24 cm) as listed, so check the dimensions against your desk or shelf.
- Lighting: make sure your motherboard has an ARGB header if you want to control the lighting.
