The ASUS Prime AP202 ARGB is a compact PC case for micro-ATX builds, with a curved tempered glass panel wrapping from the front to the side. It comes with three ARGB fans already fitted and has room for long graphics cards and a 360mm radiator. It is for builders who want a small, showcase-style system without giving up high-end parts.
Micro-ATX: what the size means
Micro-ATX (mATX) is a motherboard format smaller than standard ATX, with fewer expansion slots but plenty for most builds, which typically use one graphics card and perhaps one other add-in card. The case measures about 9.3 x 17.4 x 18.1 in and weighs 20.1 lb, so it is much more compact than a full tower. Confirm your motherboard format in its manual before choosing a case.
Curved glass and the easy-detach rail
The tempered glass panel curves from the front into the side, giving a panoramic view of the components from many angles. Tempered glass is heat-treated for strength, but it is still glass, so handle it with care. ASUS says an easy-detach rail makes it simple and safe to remove and refit the panel, which helps when you are building or cleaning inside.
Cooling and the slot vent
ASUS says a patented slot vent gives optimal cooling to the graphics card, and the case supports 360mm radiators for liquid cooling. A radiator number refers to the length of the fans it carries; 360mm usually means three 120mm fans. Three ARGB fans are pre-installed. Good airflow comes from the full layout, so follow the manual on fan direction and positions.
Component clearances
The listing says the case supports graphics cards up to 420mm long, which covers most current large cards. It also supports 360mm radiators. The listing does not give clearances for CPU air coolers, power supplies or drive bays, so check ASUS's full specifications and your parts' dimensions before buying.
ARGB lighting
An integrated ARGB light band works with Aura Sync, ASUS's lighting software, so the case lighting can be matched with other compatible parts. ARGB means each LED is addressable, so effects can run along a strip rather than showing one colour. Look at the connectors the fans and the light band need on your motherboard, and whether the supplied controller or header is sufficient.
Who it suits
It suits people building a compact gaming or creator PC who want to see inside it, and who plan to use a large graphics card or a liquid-cooling radiator. It is less suited to builds needing many drives or full-size ATX boards.
What to check before you buy
- Motherboard size: make sure your board is micro-ATX or smaller.
- Graphics card length: compare it with the 420mm limit.
- Cooler and radiator: check air cooler height and radiator thickness against the manual.
- Power supply: confirm the type and length fit.
- Lighting headers: check your board has the ARGB headers the fans need.
- Placement: glass panels are heavy and fragile; handle them with care.
