The Yeedi Cube (model YEEDICC) is a robot vacuum and mop that comes with a base station. The base empties the dust bin, washes the mop and dries it, so the robot needs far less hands-on attention than a basic model. It is aimed at households that want vacuuming and mopping handled in one routine, on both hard floors and carpet.
What the base station does
Robot vacuums with a base station typically handle three jobs: emptying the dust bin into a larger bag, washing the mop pads, and drying them. Yeedi says the Cube does all three. Its self-emptying system uses what the brand calls an L-shaped short tunnel, which it rates at 99% dust collection in about 10 seconds, and it says the bag can go up to 60 days between attentions.
For washing, a built-in scrubber moves back and forth against the mop with 10N of force, then squeezes out the dirty water. Afterwards the mop is dried with 104°F (40°C) hot air, which Yeedi says keeps odours and damp from building up. Drying matters because a mop left wet in a closed base is a common cause of musty smells.
Sonic mopping and the water tank
Instead of simply dragging a damp cloth, the Cube vibrates its mop at 2,500 vibrations per minute, which Yeedi calls sonic mopping. The idea is that the motion helps lift dried-on marks. The water tank holds 1,000 ml (1 L); Yeedi compares that with the 200 ml tanks it says are common on traditional robots. A larger tank usually means more floor area per run before a refill.
Handling carpet and thresholds
Mopping robots must not drag a wet pad across carpet. The Cube has automatic mop lifting of 8mm, so it raises the mop when it meets carpet, and it is listed for hard floors such as tile and marble as well as carpet. It is also listed as climbing obstacles up to 2 cm, which helps with low door thresholds and rug edges. Taller thresholds, cables and loose items can still stop any robot, so clear the floor first.
Navigation and suction
The robot combines a camera and a laser sensor for what Yeedi calls visual and laser fusion navigation, and the brand says this helps it recover when it gets stuck. A dual edge brush and strong suction are described as suited to pet hair and debris, with a run time of over 150 minutes. Suction figures differ between brands, so treat them as the manufacturer's own.
Size and placement
The listed dimensions are 20.0 x 18.0 x 16.9 inches (about 51 x 46 x 43 cm), which gives a sense of how much floor space the base station takes. It needs a wall socket close by and some clear room in front for the robot to dock.
Who it suits
It suits homes with a mix of hard floor and carpet, pet owners who want regular hair pick-up, and anyone who would rather not empty a bin and rinse pads after every run.
What to check before you buy
- Floor plan: measure door thresholds and check that your carpets and rugs suit a robot that lifts its mop by 8mm.
- Space for the base: the station is large, so choose a spot with a socket and open room in front.
- Upkeep: the dust bag, mop pads, brushes and clean-water supply all need replacing or refilling from time to time; check what the brand supplies.
- Noise: self-emptying and drying make some noise, so consider when it will run.
- Phone control: check the app's features and your home network before relying on schedules and maps.
- What's in the box: confirm the spare bags and mop pads included.
