The Roborock Saros Z70 is a robot vacuum and mop with an unusual extra: a five-axis mechanical arm called OmniGrip. The arm is meant to move small objects out of the way, so the robot can clean the floor underneath instead of working around them. It also has hot water mopping and a self-maintaining dock.
The OmniGrip arm
Roborock says the arm moves obstacles, lifts objects and can tidy small household items such as socks and tissues. Dual cameras, LED lighting and precision sensors guide it, and a built-in weight sensor is meant to keep the grip gentle. The listed limit is objects up to 300 g. The idea is that the robot detects and marks an obstacle on its first pass, lifts it, and returns to clean the area that was blocked.
Coverage and climbing
The FlexiArm Riser Side Brush and Mop reach into corners and edges, and Roborock cites 100% floor coverage. The AdaptiLift Chassis adjusts to the surface, climbing thresholds up to 4 cm and lifting the mop up to 22 mm on carpet. Figures marked with an asterisk in the listing are the brand's own test results, so real homes may differ.
Suction and mopping
The robot has 22,000 Pa of suction. Pascals measure suction pressure, so higher typically means a stronger pull. The FreeFlow Main Brush and a side brush designed with a 0% hair tangling rate aim to cut hair wrap. For mopping, hot water speeds up the breakdown of stains, and the mop spins at 200 RPM with 30 adjustable water flow levels.
Navigation and recognition
StarSight Autonomous System 2.0 combines 3D sensing with VertiBeam Lateral Obstacle Avoidance. Roborock says it detects furniture legs, cables and up to 108 other obstacle types. You can also define and label up to 50 new objects in the app, and the listing notes that an AI-driven recognition feature will come through over-the-air updates.
The dock
Multifunction Dock 4.0 washes the mop with 176°F hot water, cleans itself with 176°F water, removes the mops automatically, dispenses detergent, re-washes and re-mops when needed, and dries with 131°F warm air. Automatic dust emptying lasts up to 7 weeks, according to the brand.
Pets and the app
Roborock lists Video Call & Cruise to check on pets, pet and pet-area recognition that pauses the main brush and moves aside, Pet Snaps and a Search for the Pet function. The "Hello Rocky" voice assistant works without a network, and the Roborock app adds SmartPlan 2.0, multi-level mapping and no-go zones. The listing mentions compatibility with major voice assistants, and Matter support is described as coming through an update.
Size
At 3.14 in tall, the robot is slim for one with an arm. The package is listed as 18.7 x 15.0 x 19.2 in and 30.4 lb.
Who it suits
It suits households that leave small items on the floor, owners of pets, and people who want a mostly automatic routine.
What to check before you buy
- Object size: the arm handles up to 300 g, so heavier or awkward items are not covered.
- Clearance: compare the 3.14 in height with your furniture.
- Thresholds and carpet: check them against the 4 cm and 22 mm figures.
- Cameras and privacy: read how the camera features and video calls are set up and who can access them.
- Dock space: leave room near an outlet.
- Upkeep: check the manual for brushes, water and dust bags.
