The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra pairs a robot vacuum and sonic mop with an all-in-one dock that empties, refills, washes and dries. Roborock adds an AI camera for spotting objects, a built-in voice assistant and a few pet-oriented tools. Here is what the main features mean.
The all-in-one dock
The dock handles automatic emptying, hot-water mop washing and drying, self-refilling and detergent dispensing, along with fast charging and off-peak charging. Roborock says it also cleans itself to keep upkeep low. In practice, the dock is intended to reduce routine chores to occasional tasks such as changing the dust bag and refilling the clean-water and detergent supplies.
10,000 Pa suction and anti-tangle brushes
Suction is rated at 10,000 Pa. Pascals measure suction pressure, so a higher figure typically means more pull on dust in carpet, although brush design matters too. The dual-roller design and concealed scrapers are meant to reduce hair tangles.
Edge and corner cleaning
Roborock's FlexiArm side brush extends to reach tight spots, and a liftable Extra Edge mop reaches closer to walls. The brand states margins of less than 1.68 mm along the edge, with the mop rotating at 185 RPM.
VibraRise 3.0 sonic mopping
Two vibration modules scrub up to 4,000 times per minute, according to Roborock. On carpet, the mop lifts up to 20 mm so the robot can vacuum and mop in the same run without leaving the carpet damp.
Intelligent dirt detection
The robot adapts its cleaning to what it finds: more suction for heavy dust, or mop-only mode for something like spilled juice. In the dock, a sensor checks how dirty the mop water is and re-washes the mops until clean. The robot then re-mops areas identified as dirty.
Navigation and object recognition
Reactive AI 2.0 uses 3D structured light and an RGB camera to identify floor and room types. Roborock says it can recognise up to 73 objects, including shoes, pet waste and floor mirrors, and steer around them. PreciSense LiDAR navigation builds detailed maps in real time.
Voice assistant and pet features
The built-in "Hello Rocky" assistant responds to voice commands to start cleaning, change modes or start mop washing, even without an internet connection. For pet owners, a Video Call feature lets you check on your pet, schedule automatic cruises or have two-way video calls. Pet Snaps captures pictures during cleaning, and the app can send the robot to help you find a pet. Because the robot carries a camera, read the manual and privacy settings and consider where it will roam.
Size
The listing gives about 16.1 x 17.6 x 18.5 inches (41 x 45 x 47 cm) and 29.1 lb (about 13.2 kg) for the unit as packaged. Leave open floor space and a power outlet near the dock.
Who it suits
It suits larger homes and busy households that want most maintenance automated, and owners who like app features such as maps, camera views and voice control.
What to check before you buy
- Dock space: check the footprint, ventilation and outlet position, as well as access to water for refilling.

- Network: check Wi-Fi requirements for the app and for voice features.
- Flooring: check how it handles thresholds, rugs and dark floors.
- Clearance: check your furniture's height against the robot's height.
