The Roborock Qrevo S is a robot vacuum and mop that comes with a multifunctional dock. The robot vacuums and mops in the same run, and the dock then takes care of the chores that usually fall to you: washing the mops, drying them, emptying the dust bin and refilling the water tank. Here is what each part does and what to check.

What the dock does

Roborock says the dock is built to cut down on upkeep. When the robot returns, the dock washes the mops automatically, then dries them with hot air, which typically helps prevent musty smells from damp mop pads. A 5L water tank refills the robot's own tank, and Roborock says this covers mopping an area of up to 4,305 sq ft. The dock also empties the robot's dust bin, and the brand says that allows hands-free operation for up to seven weeks. The dock base is detachable so it can be cleaned thoroughly. These figures depend on how dirty your floors are and how often you run it.

What 7000Pa suction means

Pascals (Pa) measure suction pressure. A higher figure generally means the vacuum can pull dust out of carpet fibres and floor gaps more effectively, although brushes, airflow and design matter as well. Roborock rates the Qrevo S at 7000Pa and pairs it with a multi-directional floating brush, which it says follows the floor surface and helps limit hair tangling.

Spinning mops and mop lifting

Instead of dragging a flat cloth, the Qrevo S has two spinning mops that turn at 200 RPM. Roborock says they handle everything from fresh spills to dried-on marks. Water flow has 30 adjustable levels in the app, so you can use less water on sensitive floors and more on tile.

The mops also lift by 10mm. The robot raises them when it crosses carpet, so that carpets stay dry, and when it returns to the dock. A 10mm lift suits low-pile rugs, while taller carpets may need to be excluded in the app.

The robot uses PreciSense LiDAR navigation and 3D mapping to build a map of your home. Roborock describes this as precision obstacle avoidance with reactive technology, which detects and steers around objects on the floor. Typically, clearing cables and small items from the floor before a run still gives better results. The app lets you view the map in 3D, set restricted areas, apply carpet strategies and use temporary cleaning or skipping. It can save maps for up to four floors.

Wi-Fi and power

The listing notes that it supports only 2.4G Wi-Fi and 100V-120V power. Many routers offer both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, so check that yours supports 2.4 GHz for setup.

Who it suits

It suits households with mixed hard floors and low carpets that want cleaning to need as little hands-on effort as possible. The dock is large: the listing gives the product dimensions as 13.4 x 19.2 x 20.5 inches and a weight of 25.5 lb.

What to check before you buy

  • Space for the dock: it needs a wall-side spot with clear room around it, and a power outlet nearby.
  • Floors: check your carpet height against the 10mm mop lift.
  • Wi-Fi: confirm that you have a 2.4 GHz network for app control.
  • Voltage: the product supports 100V-120V only.
  • Clearance: check that the robot fits under the furniture you want cleaned.
  • Upkeep: plan for regular replacement of the dust bags, filters, brushes and mops, as the manual describes.
