The MOOKA PR1 is a compact HEPA air purifier with a 4-stage filter, a PM2.5 air quality display and a dedicated Pet Mode. It is built for bedrooms, dorm rooms, offices and living spaces. This page covers what the features mean and what to check first.
Filtration and the washable pre-filter
MOOKA describes a 4-stage filtration system with a HEPA filter. MOOKA says it captures pet hair, smoke, PM2.5 and odours. The pre-filter is washable: rinse it, let it dry fully, and put it back. A pre-filter that catches coarse material typically extends the life of the finer filters behind it.
MOOKA also notes a wider side air inlet in addition to the normal surface intake, aimed at drawing in air without clogging.
Coverage claim
The listing states coverage of up to 2,200 sq ft. Coverage figures like this vary with how they are measured, so it helps to compare it with the room you have in mind and keep realistic expectations for a unit that is 12.3 x 6.4 x 16.3 inches (about 31 x 16 x 41 cm) and weighs 8.9 lb (about 4 kg).
PM2.5 sensor and Auto mode
PM2.5 refers to particles smaller than 2.5 micrometres. The PR1's sensor shows a real-time air quality reading on its screen, and in Auto mode the fan speed adjusts to the reading. MOOKA says the sensor sits at the back left of the unit and recommends cleaning it regularly. After powering on there is a one-minute preheating period while the indicator flashes.
Pet Mode and fan speeds
There are six settings: Sleep, I, II, III, Auto and Pet. Pet Mode increases the purification effect, which MOOKA says helps capture pet hair and odours faster. Sleep Mode runs as low as 26 dB, though the unit is louder at higher speeds.
Timer, child lock and aroma
A timer and child lock are included. An aroma function lets you moisten an aroma pad with essential oil. MOOKA suggests using extra oil the first time. If you prefer unscented air, you can simply leave the pad dry.
Filter reminder and certifications
An indicator light reminds you to replace the filter, and holding the Filter Reset button for three seconds clears it. MOOKA recommends official replacement filters every 3 to 6 months. It lists CARB, ETL, DOE and FCC certification and says the unit has no ozone release and no UV light.
Who it suits
It suits people who want a small purifier for a bedroom, dorm or office, particularly in a home with pets.
What to check before you buy
- Room size: compare the area with the coverage claim and the unit's compact size.

- Noise: consider which speed you will use at night.
- Scent: the aroma pad is optional.
- Placement: leave space around the intakes, as the manual describes.
