The eufy RoboVac G30 is a round, slim robot vacuum meant to keep hard floors and low carpets tidy without you pushing a vacuum around. It combines a path-planning navigation system, 2000 Pa of suction, app control and compatibility with Alexa. Here is what each of those means in daily use, and the limits worth knowing about.
How Dynamic Navigation 2.0 works
Basic robot vacuums often move in a random pattern, bouncing off furniture until they have covered most of the room. eufy says Dynamic Navigation 2.0 uses a path-tracking sensor so the G30 cleans in planned lines instead. In general, a planned route covers a floor more evenly and in less time than random wandering, though it still depends on furniture layout and obstacles.
What 2000 Pa of suction means
Pascals (Pa) measure suction pressure. A higher number generally means the vacuum can pull debris from deeper in a carpet or from gaps between floorboards. Figures from different brands are measured in different ways, so the number is best used as a rough guide rather than an exact comparison. eufy describes the G30 as suited to both carpets and hard floors, and it also lists the model as suitable for homes with pets.
BoostIQ
BoostIQ is eufy's name for automatic suction increase. The company says the G30 raises its suction within about 1.5 seconds when it meets a tougher spot, such as carpet or heavier debris. The benefit is that the robot can run in a quieter, more economical mode on bare floors and only work harder when it needs to.
App control and cleaning history
You can start, stop and schedule cleaning from a phone app, and the app shows where and when the RoboVac cleaned. A cleaning history is handy for confirming a scheduled run actually happened. The G30 also works with Alexa for voice commands.
The 2.4GHz Wi-Fi requirement
This is the detail most likely to cause setup trouble. eufy states that the G30 supports only the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band and does not support 5GHz. If your router combines both bands under one name, you may need to use a dual-band router configured to offer 2.4GHz, or temporarily separate the bands during setup. Check the setup guide before you begin.
No self-empty station
eufy notes that the G30 is not compatible with a self-empty station. The dust bin must be emptied by hand. If an automatic emptying dock matters to you, eufy points to its G30+ model instead.
A refurbished unit
The listing describes this product as pre-owned or refurbished, inspected and tested by a qualified supplier. That means condition, packaging and accessories can differ from a new-in-box unit. Read the stated condition and the replacement terms from the seller.
Size and weight
The G30 measures about 12.8 x 12.8 x 2.8 inches (roughly 32.5 x 32.5 x 7 cm) and weighs 5.8 lb (about 2.6 kg). A height of 2.8 inches means it can usually pass under many sofas and beds, but measure the clearance on your own furniture.
What to check before you buy
- Wi-Fi: confirm your router offers a 2.4GHz network.
- Floors: think about thick rugs, floor thresholds and cables that a small robot may struggle with.
- Clearance: measure the gap under furniture you want cleaned.
- Emptying: you will empty the bin yourself; check its size against your home.
- Condition and parts: for a refurbished unit, confirm which accessories, such as brushes, filter and charging base, are included, and how replacement parts are sourced.
- Upkeep: brushes and filters wear out; the manual describes how often to clean or change them.
