The DREAME X50 Ultra (model RLX85CE) is a robot vacuum and mop that comes with a station that empties the dust bin and cleans the mop. Its main design idea is getting over and under things: it has retractable legs for climbing thresholds and a body that lowers to slip under furniture.
Climbing over thresholds
Most robot vacuums stop at door tracks and raised thresholds. DREAME says the X50 Ultra uses robotic retractable legs to cross door tracks, thresholds and obstacles up to 2.36 inches (about 6 cm). The brand adds that shock absorbers reduce impact and noise when it climbs. If your home has raised door sills or step-ups between rooms, this is the kind of feature that decides whether a robot can clean more than one room.
Getting under furniture
VersaLift Navigation lowers the robot's height to 3.5 inches (about 9 cm) so it can pass under sofas and other low furniture. An AI camera with LED guidance helps in tight spots and with obstacle avoidance. Check the clearance under your own furniture against the 3.5-inch figure.
What 20,000Pa suction means
Pascals (Pa) measure suction pressure. Higher figures generally mean more pulling force, though real cleaning also depends on brush design, airflow and the floor type. DREAME says the suction reaches up to 20,000Pa with its Vormax system and sixth-generation TurboForce motor, and describes it as picking up cat litter and crumbs. "Up to" here refers to the highest mode, which is typically louder and shorter in battery life than normal modes.
Dealing with hair
The DuoBrush system uses two separate brushes plus an air duct design that DREAME says flings and sucks up hair. It lists handling hair up to 11.8 inches (about 30 cm) long. Hair wrapping around brushes is a common nuisance with robot vacuums, so anti-tangle features matter to households with long hair or pets.
Corners and edges
The robot extends both a brush and a mop to reach corners and low spaces under furniture. A redesigned brush aims to reduce hair tangling in those areas. Extending mops are meant to reduce the uncleaned strip that round robots usually leave along walls.
Carpet care
Five carpet modes let you tailor cleaning. DREAME's examples include removing the mops, avoiding carpets and boosting suction. These settings matter in homes that mix hard floors and rugs, since a wet mop and a carpet don't go together.
Who it suits
It suits homes with raised thresholds, low furniture, pets or long hair, and people who want vacuuming and mopping handled by a docking station. It is a large machine with a station, so it also needs floor space for the dock.
What to check before you buy
- Thresholds: measure the highest obstacle the robot needs to climb against 2.36 inches.
- Furniture clearance: compare the 3.5-inch height with the space under your furniture.
- Dock space: the station measures about 17.3 x 17.0 x 26.0 inches, so find room near an outlet.
- Carpet types: check how the carpet modes work with your rugs.
- Upkeep: plan for emptying, brush cleaning, mop pad and filter replacement, as the manual describes.
- App and Wi-Fi: confirm your network and phone are supported.
