The DREAME L40s Ultra AE (model RLL77SE) is a robot vacuum and mop that comes with a dock called PowerDock. The robot cleans, then returns to the dock, which empties its dust bin, washes the mops with hot water and dries them. DREAME aims it at households with pets, carpets and hard floors in the same home.
Suction and two brushes
DREAME rates the suction at 19,000Pa. Pascals measure pressure difference, and higher figures generally mean a stronger pull, although brush design and airflow matter too. The brand says it picks up everything from scattered oatmeal and pet food to embedded hair and dust, on both hard floors and carpets.
It carries two brushes. The TriCut brush cuts long hair to reduce tangling. A liftable rubber brush collects larger debris from floor gaps and carpet. The robot chooses between them depending on the mess, according to the listing.
Mopping edges
MopExtend lets the mop pad expand outwards so it covers more of the edges and gets under furniture. Round robots commonly leave strips along walls and in corners, and an extending pad is aimed at that.
Obstacle avoidance
AI-powered 3D obstacle avoidance is said to recognise over 120 types of object, such as cables, socks and shoes. Even so, it helps to clear loose cables and small items before a run.
Carpets and pets
Carpet options include suction boost, mop lift of up to 10.5mm and zone avoidance. Lifting the mop means damp pads stay off carpet while hard floors still get mopped. For pet owners, DREAME describes detection and avoidance of pet-related objects, plus real-time video calls and two-way voice interaction through the robot.
Cameras in a home deserve some thought, so read the privacy settings and manual before enabling them.
The PowerDock
The dock empties dust automatically, and DREAME says this means up to 100 days between bin changes. It also washes the mops with 149°F (65°C) hot water and dries them with hot air. A damp mop left to sit is where odours start, so drying is a useful step.
Wi-Fi and size
The listing states that it supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi for USA use only. The package measures about 18.0 x 17.0 x 26.0 inches and weighs 30.0 lb (about 13.6 kg), including the dock.
Who it suits
It suits busy homes with pets or long hair, a mix of flooring types and a desire to handle upkeep only occasionally.
What to check before you buy
- Wi-Fi: confirm that your router offers a 2.4GHz network.
- Dock space: it needs a power outlet and clear room around it.
- Thresholds and furniture: check the height of door sills and the clearance under furniture in the manual.
- Consumables: find out which dust bags, mop pads and filters it uses.
- Water tanks: clean and fresh-water tanks still need attention, as the manual describes.
- Camera features: decide whether you want to use the video and voice functions.
