The REDTIGER F7N Touch is a dual dash cam, with a 4K camera for the road ahead and a 1080P camera for the rear. This version adds a circular polarizing lens, an accessory that fits over the front lens. Here is what the camera offers and what that extra lens does.
What a circular polarizing lens does
A polarizing filter cuts glare and reflections from surfaces such as the windscreen and the road. In a dash cam, that typically means less dashboard reflection in the glass and richer colours on bright days. The effect depends on the angle of the sun and how the filter is rotated, so it's most useful in daylight. Check the manual for how it clips on and how to set its angle.
Front and rear recording
REDTIGER lists 4K UHD for the front camera with a 170-degree wide-angle view and 1080P for the rear with 140 degrees. WDR and HDR are included to improve visibility in low light and in scenes with strong contrast, according to REDTIGER. A wider view covers more of the road but adds some distortion at the edges.
Touchscreen and voice commands
The F7N Touch uses a touchscreen. It can lock an emergency video, turn on WiFi and take a capture with one tap, and the buttons are still there if you prefer them. REDTIGER says voice commands allow hands-free control.
GPS and WiFi
Built-in GPS adds location, speed and route to recordings. The 5.8GHz WiFi connects to the REDTIGER app on Android and iOS, where you can view and download clips. REDTIGER suggests this makes it easier to share footage with an insurance company, though what an insurer accepts is up to them.
Loop recording and G-sensor
The camera records in a loop, overwriting the oldest footage when the memory is full. A 64GB card is included and already in the slot. The G-sensor detects sudden movement or impact and locks that clip so it isn't overwritten.
Parking monitoring
G-sensor parking mode records when the camera senses an impact or motion while the car is parked, and time-lapse parking mode records a condensed overview. REDTIGER notes that parking monitoring needs an extra hardwire kit, which is not part of this listing, so factor that in if parking mode matters to you.
Who it suits
It suits drivers who want a front-and-rear record and care about reducing windscreen glare, and those who like checking clips on their phone.
What to check before you buy
- Hardwire kit: needed for parking mode and sold separately.
- Cable runs: check that the rear camera cable reaches in your vehicle.
- Lens fit: read how the polarizing lens attaches, and when to rotate it.
- Local rules: laws on mounting and recording vary, so check yours.
- Memory card: plan to replace the card periodically.
