The REDTIGER F17 is a three-camera dash cam that records the road ahead, the cabin and the rear of the vehicle at once. It combines a 4K front camera with 1080P inside and rear cameras, plus GPS and 5G WiFi for use with a phone app. This page explains what those features mean in practice.

Three cameras, three views

REDTIGER lists these fields of view: 150° for the front camera, 160° for the cabin camera and 155° for the rear camera. The front camera records at 2160P (4K), while the other two record at 1080P. A cabin camera is often used by drivers who carry passengers for work, and the rear camera covers the view behind.

The unit has a 3-inch screen for setup and playback.

Recording modes

REDTIGER says the F17 supports a 2.5K dual-channel mode using the front and inside cameras. With the inside camera switched off, it can record 4K at the front and 1080P at the rear. In general, more channels and higher resolution mean larger files, so a memory card with enough capacity matters. The product is listed with a 64GB card, and loop recording overwrites the oldest footage when the card fills.

Night recording

REDTIGER cites a Starvis sensor, four infrared lights and WDR (wide dynamic range). WDR balances bright and dark areas in the same frame, such as headlights against a dark road. The infrared lights are generally aimed at the cabin camera, so the interior stays visible in low light.

WiFi, GPS and the app

The dash cam pairs with the REDTIGER app over 5G WiFi, which is typically faster than 2.4 GHz for transferring video. REDTIGER says you can view footage, replay all three channels together and see route and GPS data on your phone. Footage and location data may be useful if you need to document an incident, but check local rules on how recordings may be used and shared.

Parking modes

REDTIGER lists two parking modes: time-lapse and impact detection. They need the hardwire kit, which is a separate accessory that connects the camera to the car's fuse box. Without it, parking recording is not available. Fitting a hardwire kit varies by vehicle, so follow the manual or have it installed professionally.

Super capacitor

Instead of a lithium battery, the F17 uses a super capacitor. These are generally chosen because they cope better with hot and cold cabins. REDTIGER says it gives reliable performance in extreme temperatures.

Who it suits

It suits drivers who want front, cabin and rear coverage in one unit, such as families, ride-share or delivery drivers, or anyone driving a vehicle that others use.

What to check before you buy

  • Mounting: check windscreen space for the main unit and how the rear camera cable will route.
  • Power: a hardwire kit is needed for parking modes.
  • Storage: confirm the card size and how long it holds footage at 4K.
  • Privacy and law: rules on cabin recording and audio vary, so check local regulations.
  • Phone: check app compatibility with your phone.

The short version

  • Three cameras: 4K front, 1080P cabin and 1080P rear.
  • 5G WiFi, GPS and app playback.
  • Starvis sensor, four IR lights and WDR for low light.
  • Time-lapse and impact-detection parking modes, with the hardwire kit.
