The REDTIGER F7N Touch is a two-camera dash cam that records the road ahead in 4K and the view behind in 1080P. It adds a touchscreen, voice commands, built-in GPS and WiFi to a unit that mounts on the windshield. It is meant for drivers who want a record of their journeys and some evidence if something happens on the road.

Front and rear recording

The front camera records 4K UHD with a 170-degree wide-angle view. The rear camera records 1080P full HD with a 140-degree view. A wider angle takes in more lanes and the roadside, though very wide lenses can make distant objects such as number plates look smaller. REDTIGER says WDR and HDR processing improve night vision, balancing bright and dark areas in the same frame, which matters when headlights or streetlights glare into the lens.

Touchscreen, buttons and voice control

The 3.18-inch screen lets you lock an emergency clip, switch on WiFi or capture a still image in one tap. REDTIGER has kept physical buttons as well, so you can use whichever is easier. Voice commands are there so you can operate the camera without taking your hands off the wheel. Voice recognition on dash cams typically works best with short, clear phrases and a quiet cabin.

GPS, WiFi and the phone app

Built-in GPS adds location, speed and route information to recordings. REDTIGER says the unit uses 5.8GHz WiFi and works with its app on Android and iOS, so you can browse and download clips on your phone rather than removing the memory card. The dash cam still needs to be wired to power.

Loop recording and the G-sensor

Loop recording overwrites the oldest footage once the card is full, so the camera never stops recording. A 64GB card is included. The G-sensor detects sudden movement or impact and locks the related clip so that loop recording will not overwrite it. You can also lock a clip by hand using the touchscreen.

Parking monitoring

REDTIGER lists two parking modes: a G-sensor mode that records when it detects a collision or sudden movement while parked, and a time-lapse mode that gives a condensed view of events over the parking period. The brand notes that 24-hour parking monitoring requires a separate hardwire kit. Without one, parking features depend on the car's power supply, so check how your vehicle's socket behaves when switched off.

Installing it

The camera attaches to the windshield with a suction cup, and a pry tool is included to tuck the cable along the trim. The rear camera attaches separately. Position the front unit behind the mirror where it does not block your view, and follow local rules on windshield mounting.

Who it suits

It suits commuters, ride-share and delivery drivers, and anyone who wants rear coverage as well as the front. Families with a new driver may also like having recorded trips to look back on.

What to check before you buy

  • Local rules: dash cam use and windshield placement are regulated differently in different places.
  • Rear camera routing: confirm the cable is long enough for your vehicle.
  • Parking mode: if you want it, plan for the hardwire kit and check your car's wiring.
  • Memory card: the 64GB card is included; consider how long you want to keep footage.
  • Power socket: check that your car's 12V outlet is in a convenient place.
  • Warranty: REDTIGER states an 18-month guarantee; read its terms.
