The REDTIGER F77 V2 is a two-camera dash cam that records in 4K at both the front and the rear. Instead of a memory card, it keeps footage on 256GB of built-in storage, and it adds voice commands, a 4-inch touchscreen, GPS and fast Wi-Fi. Here is what those specs mean for everyday driving.
4K at both ends of the car
Both the front and the rear camera record 4K video at 30 frames per second, each from an 8-megapixel Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensor. Many two-camera kits pair a 4K front camera with a lower-resolution rear one.
STARVIS 2 is Sony's sensor line for low-light video. The listing images also mention an f/1.8 aperture, HDR and WDR processing, and a seven-layer lens. HDR and WDR help in scenes that mix bright and dark areas, such as a tunnel exit or headlights at night. REDTIGER says the cameras are meant to capture details such as licence plates and road signs by day and night; how readable a plate is will always depend on distance, speed and light.
256GB of built-in storage
Most dash cams record to a microSD card, which wears out over time because the camera writes to it constantly. The F77 V2 uses 256GB of built-in eMMC memory instead, with error-correcting (ECC) checks and power-off protection to help keep files intact if power is cut, for example in a collision. REDTIGER says it holds hours of 4K footage.
Like other dash cams, it records in a loop: when storage fills up, the oldest normal clips are overwritten, while locked clips are kept. With built-in memory there is no card to format or replace, but there is also no way to swap in a bigger card, so plan to download clips you want to keep.
Voice commands and the touchscreen
Twelve voice commands handle common jobs such as locking the current clip or taking a photo, so you don't need to reach for the camera while driving. A 4-inch IPS touchscreen and physical buttons cover setup and playback on the device itself.
Wi-Fi, app and GPS
The camera connects to the REDTIGER app over 5.8GHz Wi-Fi for setup, playback and sharing clips on a phone. The 5GHz band generally transfers large video files faster than 2.4GHz, which matters with 4K clips from two cameras.
Built-in GPS logs location, speed and route along with the video, which adds context when you look back at a clip later.
Impact lock and parking monitoring
A G-sensor detects collisions or sudden impacts and locks that footage automatically, so it isn't overwritten. Round-the-clock parking monitoring, with time-lapse video and collision-triggered recording while parked, needs REDTIGER's hardwire kit, a separate item that typically connects the camera to the car's fuse box for constant power.
Who it suits
The F77 V2 suits drivers who want high-resolution footage from both the front and the back, commuters in busy traffic, and anyone on long road trips who would rather not manage memory cards.
What to check before you buy
- Mounting: check the windscreen space behind the mirror and the rear window for the second camera.
- Parking mode: decide whether you need it, and whether you'll fit the hardwire kit yourself.
- Storage: 256GB is fixed, so plan how you'll save important clips.
- Local rules: check rules on windscreen mounting and recording in your area.
- Cabling: the rear camera needs a cable routed through the cabin.
