The VEVOR WBFCHP30OZ is a heat press built for round drinkware. It wraps a heated element around a mug, tumbler or bottle and transfers a printed design onto it by sublimation. VEVOR says it handles cups from 11 to 30 oz, and the kit includes sublimation paper, heat-resistant tape and gloves to get started.

How sublimation works

Sublimation printing uses special ink on special paper. Under heat and pressure, the ink turns to a gas and bonds with a polymer coating on the item, which gives a design that is part of the surface instead of a sticker on top. This is why sublimation blanks, such as coated mugs and tumblers, are usually needed: the technique generally does not work on plain, uncoated ceramic or steel. A sublimation printer and ink are also needed to print the designs, and the listing doesn't include them.

What it can press

The press is listed for ceramic mugs, Mason jars, stainless steel bottles and various other cups in the 11 to 30 oz range. A heating element that grips the whole circumference of the cup is what lets a flat printed design wrap around. Check that your blanks are designed for sublimation, and compare their diameter and height with the press before you buy.

Temperature and time

The temperature range is 32 °F to 482 °F (0 to 250 °C), and the timer runs from 0 to 999 seconds. VEVOR says a press can be completed in about one minute. Exact settings depend on the blank and the ink, and the blank's maker usually gives a recommended temperature and time. Set them on the touchscreen after the paper is attached.

Touchscreen and workflow

The workflow VEVOR describes is simple:

  • design the artwork and print it;
  • trim the print to fit the cup;
  • attach the sublimation paper with the heat-resistant tape;
  • set the time and temperature, then press.

The included gloves are useful because the cup and element are hot when you finish.

Safety features

An over-temperature warning alerts the user when the press reaches its upper temperature limit, and the machine switches itself off after 30 minutes of inactivity. These are the features VEVOR lists. As with any heated tool, follow the manual, keep the press on a stable heat-resistant surface and let everything cool before storing.

Size

It measures 13.3 x 11.3 x 8.7 inches (about 34 x 29 x 22 cm) and weighs 12.8 lb (about 5.8 kg), which is compact enough for a craft table.

Who it suits

It suits small craft businesses, hobbyists and people making personalised mugs and tumblers as gifts or for markets.

What to check before you buy

  • Your blanks: confirm they are sublimation-coated and between 11 and 30 oz.
  • Your printer: you need a sublimation printer, ink and paper in addition to the press.
  • Settings: check the blank maker's temperature and time guidance.
  • Space and power: allow bench space and a nearby outlet.
  • What's in the box: confirm the paper, tape and gloves against the listing.
