The VEVOR W-1.0X610A is a 24-inch box and pan brake, a workshop tool for folding sheet metal into edges, channels, boxes and pans. It bolts to a bench and uses ten modular steel segments that you arrange to suit the shape you want. Here is what the listed specs mean.
What a box and pan brake does
A brake clamps a sheet of metal along a line and folds it up to a chosen angle. A simple brake bends only a straight line across the full width. A box and pan brake has separate fingers, or segments, that can be removed and rearranged. That lets you fold the sides of a box, because the other sides can fit between the fingers. VEVOR lists floor reinforcement channels, truck bed floors, cab front panels and mudguards as typical jobs.
Modular segments
The brake comes with 10 modular segments: two 1-inch, four 2-inch, two 3-inch and two 4-inch. Combining them gives different working widths up to the 24-inch (610 mm) bending width. Narrow fingers make small tabs and tight boxes possible.
Capacity
VEVOR says the segments are 0.39 inch thick with 21 HRC hardness, and that the brake handles 20-gauge low-carbon steel and 16-gauge aluminium. These are the thicknesses it is specified for. Gauge numbers get smaller as metal gets thicker, and a given gauge differs between steel and aluminium, so check the brand's table. Do not push beyond those limits.
Bending angle
The angle is adjustable from 0 to 135 degrees. A typical bend of 90 degrees needs only part of that range, and the extra range lets you over-bend a little to allow for springback, where metal relaxes slightly after folding. VEVOR lists stainless steel, copper, aluminium, iron and galvanized steel among the metals.
Build and mounting
The body is Q235 steel. It measures 33.5 x 15.4 x 14.4 inches and weighs 103.2 lb (about 46.8 kg). VEVOR describes it as compact enough to screw to a workbench, yet portable for moving. Because it is heavy, fix it to a strong bench and follow the manual on fasteners.
Who it suits
It suits fabricators, HVAC and metal-roof workers, auto body and trailer builders, and serious home-workshop users who need repeatable bends without a large machine. The listing also names factories and personal use.
What to check before you buy
- Material thickness: compare your sheet with the 20-gauge steel and 16-gauge aluminium limits.
- Width: confirm 24 inches covers your longest bend.
- Segment choice: check that the 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-inch pieces suit your box sizes.
- Bench: plan a sturdy mounting surface for a 103 lb tool.
- Edges: wear gloves and eye protection; cut metal is sharp.
- Parts and upkeep: read the manual on adjustment and lubrication.
