The VEVOR V8E1512 is an 8-in-1 heat press for transferring designs onto fabric and hard items using heat and pressure. It combines a 15 x 12 inch T-shirt press with attachments for plates, caps and mugs, so one machine can cover several craft or small-business projects.

How a heat press works

A heat press applies a set temperature and pressure for a set time so that a transfer, such as heat transfer vinyl or sublimation print, bonds to the item. Results depend on getting those three variables right for the material, so most transfer products give recommended settings. A digital controller makes it easier to repeat them.

What the eight functions are

According to VEVOR, the set includes:

  • a 15 x 12 inch T-shirt press (the main platen),
  • 5 inch and 6 inch plate presses,
  • a 6 x 3 inch cap press,
  • and four mug presses for 6 oz, 11 oz, 12 oz and 17 oz mugs.

VEVOR lists T-shirts, mugs, hats, plates, caps, bags and mouse pads as typical items. Sublimation generally needs polyester or polymer-coated blanks, so check the transfer type against what you plan to press.

Heating and insulation

The heating uses a double-tube design, and the brand describes two layers of thermal insulation cotton, a 4 mm aluminium silicate paper layer and a 10 mm thermostable sponge. VEVOR says this gives fast, even heating. An even platen matters because cold spots lead to patchy transfers.

Digital control and alerts

A digital control box handles temperature and countdown, and an audible alarm sounds at the end of the timer. VEVOR also says a small red button on the control box pops up if the temperature is too high or the voltage is unstable.

Swing-away platen and slide table

The heating plate swings away 360 degrees, so it can be rotated out of the way while you position the item, then back over it. A pull-out slide table also keeps hands away from the hot plate during loading. This design is common among swing-away presses because the work area is open and clear.

Heat-resistant mats and Teflon sheets

Two heat-resistant mats are included to help the transfer material and shirt fit together. VEVOR advises placing the white Teflon paper between the heating plate and the design to keep shirts clean.

What to check before you buy

  • Size: a 15 x 12 inch platen covers most adult shirt designs, but not oversized prints.
  • Materials: match transfer paper, vinyl or sublimation ink to the blank.
  • Mug sizes: confirm that your mugs match the 6, 11, 12 or 17 oz attachments.
  • Space and power: check the workspace and the electrical supply.
  • Settings: follow the transfer supplier's temperature, time and pressure guidance.
  • Heat handling: use the slide table and protective sheets as the manual describes.

The short version

  • An 8-in-1 digital heat press with a 15 x 12 inch swing-away T-shirt platen.
  • Plate (5 and 6 inch), cap (6 x 3 inch) and four mug attachments.
  • Double-tube heating with several insulation layers.
  • Countdown alarm, over-temperature and unstable-voltage indicator button.
  • Pull-out slide table, 360-degree swing-away and two heat-resistant mats.
