The VEVOR TH-20ADX is a 3-litre ultrasonic cleaner. You fill the tank with water and a mild detergent, put small items in a basket, and let sound waves loosen dirt that scrubbing would struggle to reach. It suits jewellery, small tools and mechanical parts.
How ultrasonic cleaning works
A transducer sends high-frequency sound waves through the liquid. They form tiny bubbles that collapse against the surfaces of submerged items, which lifts oil, grime and particles, including from crevices and small holes. VEVOR gives the frequency as 40kHz, which it says cleans carburettors, spray nozzles and other small parts. The brand advises neutral detergent and warm water for the best results.
Degassing and power modes
Freshly filled liquid contains dissolved air, which can reduce how well the bubbles form. The degassing mode runs the unit to drive that air out first, and VEVOR says this improves efficiency by 30 percent. There are also two power settings, a gentler one for delicate items and a stronger one for heavy-duty parts. Fragile or porous objects, and some gemstones, can be damaged by ultrasonic cleaning, so check the care instructions for your items.
Controls and display
A knob adjusts frequency, time and temperature, and a digital display shows the settings. Warm liquid generally helps remove greasy deposits, so temperature control matters for workshop parts. VEVOR says the settings can be tuned for jewellery, watches and industrial items.
Tank, basket and build
The tank and body use corrosion-resistant 304 stainless steel. The scratch-proof basket holds items in the liquid, and the brand says to use the basket suspension so items don't rest on the tank bottom, which gives more even cleaning and protects the tank. An upgraded handle makes carrying easier. The unit measures about 10.8 x 6.7 x 10.2 in (27 x 17 x 26 cm) and weighs 7.0 lb. A cleaning ball is included.
Getting good results
Ultrasonic cleaners work best with the right routine. Fill the tank to the marked level with warm water and a little neutral detergent, run the degassing mode for a few minutes, then lower the basket in. Items should sit in the liquid without touching the tank floor, and heavily soiled parts often need a longer cycle or a second pass. Rinse and dry items afterwards, and follow the manual on emptying the tank.
Who it suits
It suits hobbyists with jewellery, coins or razors, people who maintain small engines and need to clean carburettors and nozzles, and workshops with small parts to degrease.
What to check before you buy
- Capacity: 3 litres limits the size of items, so measure your largest part.
- Materials: check that your items can be ultrasonically cleaned.
- Liquids: use only cleaning liquids the manual allows, and never flammable solvents in the tank.
- Power and heat: follow the manual on filling levels and running without liquid.
- Noise and upkeep: some high-pitched sound is normal, and the tank should be drained and dried after use.
