This VEVOR kit combines a 4CFM single-stage vacuum pump with a 2-gallon stainless steel vacuum chamber. It is meant for jobs where air has to be removed from a container or system, such as degassing liquids, vacuum packaging and air conditioning service. Here is what the specs mean and what to confirm before choosing one.

What 4CFM and 1/3HP tell you

CFM (cubic feet per minute) describes how quickly a pump moves air. VEVOR rates this one at 4CFM, powered by a 1/3HP motor with copper windings. A higher CFM figure generally means a system or chamber is pumped down faster, which matters most with larger volumes. For a 2-gallon chamber, 4CFM is a comfortable amount of pumping speed, since the pump is not the limiting factor for most small jobs.

Ultimate vacuum

The listing gives an ultimate vacuum of 5 Pa. This is the lowest pressure the pump can reach under ideal conditions. Lower numbers mean a deeper vacuum. Single-stage pumps typically reach a deep rough vacuum, which is fine for degassing and general service work, though some specialist tasks call for two-stage pumps.

The pump body and oil

VEVOR says the pump housing is heavy-duty aluminium alloy chosen for heat dissipation. It uses an oil-sealed design, with an oil viewing window so the level can be checked at a glance. A non-oil-flow-back design is described as helping to avoid contaminating the chamber. Vacuum pump oil needs regular checking and changing, as the manual describes. A built-in thermal protection function is meant to guard the motor against overheating.

The chamber

The chamber holds 2 gallons (about 7.6 litres) and is stainless steel, rated by VEVOR to withstand temperatures up to 160°F (about 71°C). The lid is acrylic, so the contents can be watched. VEVOR also lists a non-stick silicone gasket, a 50-micron air filter and two silencers to reduce noise. Check what materials and temperatures the maker allows in the chamber. Chambers of this type are used for removing bubbles from resins and silicone, among other uses.

Hose and portability

A steel-wire-reinforced hose connects the pump to the chamber, and the pump has an ergonomic handle. The kit measures 18.9 x 13.8 x 11.4 inches (about 48 x 35 x 29 cm).

Where the kit fits

VEVOR lists household air conditioning, car maintenance, vacuum packaging, refrigerator work and light industrial use. For HVAC use, check the fitting sizes and refrigerant compatibility in the manual, as the kit's hose and ports may need adapters.

What to check before you buy

  • Chamber size: confirm your items or moulds fit inside 2 gallons, including any container you want to degas.
  • Materials: check the manual for what may safely go in the chamber, and the temperature limit.
  • Oil: the pump needs oil and periodic changes; check what grade the manual calls for.
  • Fittings: check that hose ends and ports match your equipment.
  • Noise and space: plan a stable bench with room for the pump to ventilate.
  • Power: confirm the voltage and plug.

The short version

  • A kit with a 4CFM, 1/3HP single-stage pump and a 2-gallon stainless chamber.
  • Ultimate vacuum of 5 Pa, with oil window and thermal protection.
  • Acrylic lid, silicone gasket, 50-micron filter and steel-wire hose.
  • Chamber rated by the brand to 160°F.
  • Suited to degassing, vacuum packaging and HVAC and refrigeration work.
