The VEVOR WDHRS01-RTW1450A is a spring-driven reel that stores a 50-foot twin hose for oxygen-acetylene welding, cutting and brazing. Instead of coiling two heavy hoses on the floor, the reel keeps them together and draws them out as needed, which tidies a workshop and reduces wear on the hose.

What the hose is

The reel carries a twin hose in 1/4-inch bore, 50 feet (about 15 m) long. VEVOR says it is R-grade, a category used for acetylene and other fuel gases that is generally suited to oxygen and acetylene service. The stated maximum working pressure is 300 PSI, with a bursting pressure of 900 PSI. These are the manufacturer's figures; regulator settings for welding and cutting are far lower, so the working pressure is a ceiling and not a target.

VEVOR gives the operating temperature range as -22°F to 158°F (about -30°C to 70°C) and describes the rubber as weather-resistant and wear-resistant.

Colour coding and fittings

The two hoses are distinguished by colour: red for acetylene and green for oxygen. This follows a widely used convention in North America and makes it harder to mix up the lines.

The fittings are B-style, 9/16"-18 thread. The acetylene fitting is left-hand thread and the oxygen fitting is right-hand. Fuel-gas fittings are normally left-handed so they can't be fitted to an oxygen connection by mistake. Check that these match your regulators and torch before use.

Auto rewind and hose management

Give the hose a gentle tug and the spring retracts it, according to VEVOR. Four non-snag rollers guide the hose to reduce abrasion, and an adjustable stopper lets you lock it at a chosen length. The reel is a steel housing; VEVOR describes it as impact-resistant and corrosion-resistant.

Mounting and size

The reel can be mounted on a ceiling, wall or floor. It measures 15.7 x 7.9 x 16.7 inches (about 40 x 20 x 42 cm) and weighs 35.8 lb (about 16 kg), so the mount needs to be solid. Overhead mounting keeps hoses off the ground and away from sparks and traffic, but placement near welding work should follow your workshop's rules and the manual.

Where it fits

VEVOR positions it for workshops, garages and auto shops where gas welding, soldering or cutting equipment is used regularly. If you work in a fixed spot and only need a short reach, a reel may be unnecessary. If you move around a larger bay, a retractable hose offers a tidy alternative.

What to check before you buy

  • Fittings: confirm that your regulators and torch use B-style 9/16"-18 connections.
  • Hose bore: 1/4-inch is stated; match it to the torch and the jobs you do.
  • Mounting point: make sure the ceiling, wall or floor can carry 35.8 lb plus the spring pull.
  • Location: keep the reel away from ignition sources and follow your local codes, the cylinder supplier's guidance and the manual.
  • Inspection: gas hoses should be checked regularly for cracks and leaks; the manual explains how.
  • Length: measure the reach you need from the reel to the work area.
