The VEVOR Pro MIG-200AU is a 200A multi-process welder that handles pulse MIG, gas MIG, gasless (flux core) MIG, stick (MMA) and lift TIG. It runs on either 110V or 220V with a supplied voltage adapter, so one machine can serve a garage on ordinary household power and a workshop with a heavier supply.

Five processes in one machine

  • Gas MIG uses a solid wire and shielding gas, and is common for clean welds on steel.
  • Gasless MIG uses flux-core wire that makes its own shielding, which helps outdoors where wind blows gas away.
  • Pulse MIG pulses the current. VEVOR says this gives fast, low-spatter welds with better thermal control, allowing good welds at lower temperatures. In general, lower heat input helps on thin sheet and aluminum.
  • Stick (MMA) uses coated electrodes and is forgiving on dirty or rusty material.
  • Lift TIG strikes the arc by touching and lifting the tungsten. VEVOR notes the TIG torch is not included.

VEVOR also notes the aluminum welding torch is not included and has to be bought separately.

Synergic control

With synergic control, the welder sets current and wire feed speed together from your wire thickness and voltage choice. This shortens setup for beginners, since you adjust one setting instead of balancing two. The machine has 2T and 4T trigger modes: 2T welds while the trigger is held, while 4T latches the arc on, which is easier on the hand during long seams.

Wire and material range

The machine takes 0.03 in (0.8 mm) and 0.04 in (1.0 mm) flux-core and solid wire, and 0.04 in (1.0 mm) and 0.05 in (1.2 mm) aluminum wire, with a maximum spool capacity of 11 lb (5 kg). VEVOR says output can weld material up to 15 mm thick and lists mild steel, aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, sheet metal, square pipe and metal cages. Real-world thickness limits depend on the supply voltage, since 110V provides less power than 220V.

Display and protections

A large LCD shows settings. The welder has overheat protection and current overload protection, which should switch it off if limits are exceeded. These protect the machine, and they don't replace sensible practice.

Size and power

It weighs 29.3 lb (about 13.3 kg) and measures 16.9 x 7.1 x 12.6 inches (43 x 18 x 32 cm), compact enough to carry between jobs. Welding draws substantial current, so check your circuit and breaker for either voltage, and use correctly rated extension cords, if any, as the manual instructs.

Welding safety

Welding involves arcs, heat, sparks and fumes. Follow the manual and standard practice: wear a welding helmet, gloves and protective clothing, work in ventilated space and keep flammables away.

Who it suits

It suits hobbyists, farm and garage fabricators, and small workshops that want several processes in one machine and may weld aluminum later. A user who only does thick steel on 220V all day may prefer a dedicated machine.

What to check before you buy

  • Missing parts: the aluminum torch and TIG torch are not included.
  • Power: confirm your outlet, breaker and the voltage you will use.
  • Consumables: check wire sizes, gas type and regulator fittings.
  • Thickness: compare your typical material with the limits at your voltage.
  • Safety kit: plan space for a helmet, gloves and ventilation.
  • Upkeep: liners, tips and nozzles are wear parts.

The short version

  • VEVOR MIG-200AU: 200A, 5-in-1 pulse MIG, gas MIG, flux core, stick and lift TIG.
  • Synergic control with 2T and 4T modes and an LCD screen.
  • Dual voltage 110V/220V with an adapter; welds up to 15 mm, per VEVOR.
  • Aluminum and TIG torches are not included.
  • Weighs 29.3 lb.
