The VEVOR PA600 is a ceiling- or beam-mounted electric hoist that runs on 120V. A 900W motor winds a steel cable to raise loads, and a remote control lets you operate it from a distance. VEVOR rates it for 660 lb on a single line and 1320 lb on a double line.
Single and double line lifting
The hoist offers two ways of rigging the cable, a trade-off between speed, height and capacity:
| Mode | Capacity | Speed | Maximum height |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single line | 660 lb | 27.6 ft/min | 40 ft |
| Double line | 1320 lb | 13.8 ft/min | 20 ft |
A double line uses a pulley arrangement, so the load is shared and the lift is slower but stronger. The cable is braided steel, described as a 19-strand wire rope, and ends in a high-strength metal hook.
The 900W motor
VEVOR says the motor uses copper windings and has a large cooling fan to limit overheating. Electric hoists are typically intended for intermittent use, not continuous running, so check the manual for duty-cycle limits and rest periods.
Wired and wireless remotes
Two controllers come with the hoist. A wired handset has a 14 ft cable, and a wireless remote works up to 328 ft away, according to VEVOR. The brand also includes an emergency stop button. In general, remote operation lets you stand clear of the load and watch from a good position, and the standard advice is never to stand under a suspended load.
Mounting
The hoist hangs from a ceiling or beam using mounting brackets, and VEVOR describes installation as two steps. A 13 ft lifting sling strap and a 3.2 ft shaft belt with a metal ring are included. The structure it hangs from matters as much as the hoist itself: it must be rated to carry the load and the hoist's weight, and a qualified person should assess it when in doubt.
Size and body
The steel body measures 15.4 x 5.5 x 9.4 inches and weighs 36.2 lb (about 16.4 kg). That is light enough for one person to hang with some care, though a second pair of hands helps.
Who it suits
VEVOR lists garages, factories, warehouses and homes, for professionals and hobbyists. Typical jobs include lifting engines or heavy equipment onto benches, moving materials in a workshop, or raising items to a loft or mezzanine. It is a lifting tool, so it's not meant for lifting people.
What to check before you buy
- Mounting point: check the beam or ceiling can safely take the combined load.
- Height: the single-line height is 40 ft, the double-line height 20 ft; confirm what your job needs.
- Power: it needs a 120V supply; check the cord length and outlet.
- Duty cycle: check the manual for how long it may run without a break.
- Inspection: examine the cable, hook and brackets before each use, as the manual advises.
- Local rules: workplace lifting equipment can carry inspection and certification requirements.
