The VEVOR GYB-700A is an electric hydraulic power unit: a motor, pump, oil tank and controls in one orange housing. It supplies pressurised oil to hydraulic tools such as jacks, presses, benders and punching machines, so one unit can power equipment that would otherwise need a hand pump. It is an industrial tool and not a general-purpose gadget.

What a hydraulic power pack does

The unit does not do any pressing itself. It sends oil under pressure through hoses to a cylinder or tool, which turns that pressure into force. VEVOR lists uses including lifting, pressing, bending, straightening, cutting, assembly and disassembly. What you can do with it depends on the cylinder or machine you connect, so both must be rated for the pressure and flow involved.

Pressure, flow and motor

VEVOR rates the maximum hydraulic pressure at 10,000 PSI (about 690 bar), driven by a 750W motor with an aluminium shell. The flow rate is listed as 0.7 to 8 L/min, and the pressure can be adjusted to suit the job. The unit runs on 110V power.

Pressure and flow do different things. Pressure determines how much force a cylinder can produce, and flow determines how quickly it moves. A higher flow rate generally means a faster stroke. Always keep the working pressure within the limit of every connected part, as the manual describes.

Oil tank and fluid

The tank holds 488 cubic inches (8L), with a visible window for checking the oil level. VEVOR recommends 15-32# hydraulic oil, a grade number that refers to viscosity. A larger tank gives more oil for long strokes or big cylinders, and also helps the oil stay cooler during longer work.

Single-acting solenoid valve and pedal switch

The unit has a single-acting solenoid valve. In a single-acting setup, pressure drives the cylinder in one direction and the load or a spring returns it. If your machine needs powered movement in both directions, you would need a double-acting arrangement, so confirm which type your equipment uses. The foot pedal switch frees both hands to position the workpiece, which suits punching and bending work.

Hoses and gauge

Two 9.8 ft (3 m) oil hoses come with the unit, which lets you operate the tool at a distance from the pump. A pressure gauge, described as shockproof, shows the pressure during work. Hose fittings and thread sizes vary, so check they match your cylinder or tool.

Size and weight

The listing gives 12.6 x 9.8 x 16.5 inches (about 32 x 25 x 42 cm) and a weight of 55.3 lb (about 25 kg). Non-slip rubber feet hold it in place, and VEVOR says they reduce sliding and vibration. A hydraulic pump of this type is still a working machine, so expect it to make noise.

Who it suits

It suits workshops and fabricators who run hydraulic jacks, presses, benders, punching tools or similar machines, and who want an electric unit rather than pumping by hand. It is not a ready-to-use tool by itself. Following the manual on installation, pressure limits, fluid, hose condition and personal protective equipment is essential.

What to check before you buy

  • Your equipment: confirm the pressure, flow and single-acting design suit the cylinder or machine.
  • Fittings: check hose and port thread types.
  • Power supply: the unit runs on 110V, so confirm your outlet and circuit.
  • Duty cycle: check the manual for run-time limits.
  • Oil: have the recommended oil ready and know how to fill and bleed the system.
  • Space and weight: at about 25 kg, plan where it will sit and how to lift it.

The short version

  • A 750W, 110V electric hydraulic power unit with a 10,000 PSI maximum.
  • 8L (488 in³) oil tank with a level window, and a flow range of 0.7 to 8 L/min.
  • Single-acting solenoid valve, foot pedal switch, gauge and two 3m hoses.
  • Weighs about 25 kg; follow the manual and use rated equipment.
