The VEVOR DC15 is a dust collector and media reclaimer built for sandblasting cabinets. It pulls dust and spent abrasive out of the cabinet, separates the reusable media from the fine dust, and leaves a clearer view of the work. It uses a 1.6 HP motor and has a 1.8 gallon dust container.
What a reclaimer does in a blasting cabinet
When you blast a part, the abrasive breaks down and the removed coating turns to fine dust, which clouds the cabinet window. A dust collector extracts that air through a filter. A reclaimer goes a step further: it draws mixed media and dust out of the cabinet, lets heavier usable media drop back for reuse, and sends the fine dust to a container. VEVOR describes the DC15 as capturing dust and reclaiming media, which keeps the working area cleaner.
Motor and capacity
VEVOR lists a 1.6 HP motor for suction. Higher motor power generally supports stronger airflow, which matters when you run a larger nozzle. The 1.8 gallon dust container is meant to run for longer between emptying. The unit measures roughly 10.8 x 10.6 x 22.8 inches and weighs 13.2 lb.
Media it handles
The brand says the DC15 filters a range of media, including glass beads, silicon carbide, aluminium oxide and crushed walnut shells. Different media vary in weight and breakdown rate, so how well each is reclaimed can differ, and the manual will have guidance.
Build
The body is cold-rolled steel with a powder-coated finish. VEVOR says this resists deformation, corrosion and rust, which is useful in a workshop with dust and the occasional spill.
Fit and installation
The inlet is 2 inches, which VEVOR describes as a universal fit for most industrial blasting cabinets and media blasters. Fitment is where you should read carefully:
- The DC15 can be used directly with VEVOR 90-gallon sandblasting cabinets, with no drilling.
- With VEVOR 40-gallon, 60-gallon or other brands' cabinets, you need to drill one inlet hole and four screw holes yourself. A drilling template is provided to mark the diameter and position.
- It is not compatible with 25-gallon cabinets.
Who it suits
Hobbyists and small workshops that blast parts, such as restoring metal or cleaning rust, and whose cabinet either lacks a collector or has a weak one.
What to check before you buy
- Your cabinet: confirm its size and whether it has a 2-inch connection point or needs drilling.
- Your media: check that the media you use is in the supported list.
- Power: check the voltage and circuit for a 1.6 HP motor against the plate on the machine and the manual.
- Dust handling: fine dust from blasting can contain whatever you strip off, such as old paint. Follow the manual and local rules on disposal and protective equipment.
- Filter care: filters clog over time, so check how to clean or replace them.
- Space: allow room for a unit about 23 inches tall beside the cabinet.
The short version
- A 1.6 HP dust collector and media reclaimer, model DC15.
- 1.8 gallon dust container and a 2-inch inlet.
- Works with glass beads, silicon carbide, aluminium oxide and crushed walnut shells.
- Drops straight onto VEVOR 90-gallon cabinets; other sizes need drilling, and 25-gallon cabinets are not supported.
