The VEVOR 8116 is a corded drill mixer: a powerful D-handle drill that also comes with a paddle for stirring thick materials. It is meant for jobs where a standard drill struggles, such as mixing a bucket of paint, filler or cement, and it can also drill into wood and drywall.

Why a mixing drill is different

Stirring heavy material needs steady torque at a lower speed than a typical drilling job. A mixing drill usually has a strong motor, a firm two-hand grip and a chuck that holds the paddle without slipping. The D-handle on this model gives you a second hold and better leverage against the resistance of a thick mix.

Motor and chuck

The 8116 has an 1100W motor drawing 5.4A, paired with a 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) metal chuck. VEVOR says this suits thick mixes and hard surfaces. Metal chucks typically grip better than plastic ones and last longer under repeated load. A 1/2 inch chuck takes larger shanks, which is helpful for mixing paddles.

Speed control

Speed is stepless from 0 to 850 RPM, meaning there are no fixed steps. You control it with the trigger. As a rule, start slowly so powder doesn't fly up and the paddle doesn't whip the mix, then build speed as it combines. Material type and thickness decide the right pace, as VEVOR notes.

Comfort and handling

A rubber handle absorbs vibration, a lock-on trigger reduces hand strain on long mixes, and the power cord is 6.6 feet (2 m). The tool measures about 19.3 x 13.6 x 4.9 inches as packed and weighs 8.5 lb. A lock-on trigger is convenient, but be ready to release it immediately if the paddle catches. Follow the manual for safe use.

Paddle and build

The set includes a galvanized paddle. VEVOR says the smooth finish makes cleanup easier, and the metal chuck gives a strong grip. The brand describes it as built for repeated use and heavy-duty work with minimal maintenance.

Mixing and drilling

VEVOR calls it a 2-in-1 design: mixing paint and filler, or drilling through wood, drywall and more. It lists uses including fodder, paint and cement. As a mixer it is the main attraction, and for precision drilling a dedicated drill usually offers finer control.

Who it suits

It suits DIYers and tradespeople who regularly stir buckets of paint, plaster, filler, mortar or similar materials, and want a single tool that can also do light drilling. Occasional small mixes may not justify one.

What to check before you buy

  • Materials: check what you plan to mix and whether the paddle size suits your containers.
  • Power: it is corded, so confirm outlet access and extension cord suitability.
  • Mix volume: very large or very stiff batches are demanding on any handheld tool, so check the manual.
  • Bit compatibility: a 1/2 inch chuck accepts larger shanks, so check your bits.
  • Cleaning: clean the paddle straight after use, before material hardens.
  • Protective gear: eye protection and a dust mask are standard practice with powders, as the manual describes.
