The VEVOR 8 in 1 Heat Press is a swing-away press with a 15 x 15 in (38 x 38 cm) platen and a set of attachments for hats, mugs, plates and an aluminum pot. It is aimed at people who make custom T-shirts and gifts using sublimation or heat-transfer designs. This page covers what the specs mean.

What "8 in 1" includes

The main unit is a flat platen for T-shirts and other flat fabric. The attachments make up the rest of the eight:

  • a hat/cap press, 6 x 3 in (curved);
  • three mug presses: for 9 oz mugs, 12 oz mugs, and mugs of 3 to 3.5 in diameter (11 oz);
  • an aluminum pot press, 16 cm;
  • two plate presses, for plates up to 8 in and up to 10 in in diameter.

The shirts, cups, mugs and hats themselves are not included. Sublimation transfers generally need blanks coated for sublimation, such as polyester fabric or coated mugs, so check that the items you buy match your transfer method.

Heating and temperature

VEVOR says the press uses double-tube heating, and that the temperature difference between the centre and edge of the platen is around 5 °C, compared with over 10 °C for old-style single tubes. Even heat matters because uneven temperature can leave patchy or faded transfers.

Rated power is 1000W at 110V and 60 Hz. The highest temperature is 210 °C (410 °F). A digital controller with a dual-screen display shows temperature and time, and the (+/-) buttons switch between °C and °F. Silicone buttons keep the panel easy to press.

Swing-away arm

The arm swings through 360°, which moves the heating element off to the side. This helps in two ways: you can lay out a garment without working under a hot platen, and VEVOR says the design spreads pressure evenly across the platen. Even pressure is as important as even temperature for a clean transfer.

Insulation and shut-off

VEVOR says multi-layer insulation keeps the outer surface to 45-60 °C while the working temperature is 205 °C, compared with 70-100 °C for traditional presses. It also says the press shuts itself off after 30 minutes of inactivity. The surfaces you work on and the platen itself still get very hot, so use heat-resistant gloves where the manual advises.

Size and what's in the box

The packed product measures about 51 x 40 x 47 cm (20.07 x 15.75 x 18.51 in) and the press arrives fully assembled. The box includes the attachments listed above, a power cord, an operating manual, and a removable silicone pad and cotton pad. A heat press is a substantial item, so plan a workbench or table with room for the swing arm.

Who it suits

It suits hobbyists, small online sellers and craft groups who want one machine for shirts and a range of drinkware. The mug and plate attachments suit gift and personalised-item projects. For high-volume production, check the manual's guidance on continuous use.

What to check before you buy

  • Blank sizes: compare your mugs, plates and caps with the attachment sizes above.
  • Transfer method: confirm the time and temperature your transfer paper or vinyl needs, and that 410 °F is high enough.
  • Space and power: you need a stable table and a 110V outlet.
  • Items not included: garments, mugs and hats are sold separately.
  • Cleaning and care: check the manual on keeping the platen and pads clean.
