The VEVOR 5 in 1 Heat Press (model SJY-H15151M) is a 15 x 15 in swing-away press with a pull-out drawer and several attachments, including a 30 oz tumbler press. It is aimed at crafters who print designs on T-shirts, mugs, hats and plates. Here is what its design and controls mean.

What the five functions cover

VEVOR says the machine transfers designs onto T-shirts, pillowcases, hats, mugs and ceramic plates through its attachments. The upgraded 30 oz tumbler attachment is described as able to press two mugs at a time, which speeds up batches. The attachment sizes and what blanks suit them are in the manual, so compare them with the items you plan to decorate.

Swing-away arm and pull-out drawer

Two features are meant to keep your hands clear of the hot plate. The 360° swing-away arm moves the heating plate to the side, and the drawer then pulls out so you can place or remove a garment in a roomier spot. After pressing, the drawer lets you take out the finished item without reaching under the plate. Compared with clamshell presses, a swing arm typically gives more even pressure and easier access.

Digital control

You set temperature and time to suit the transfer material. VEVOR gives a temperature range of 32-480 °F (0-250 °C) and a time range of 0-999 seconds. The (▲/▼) buttons toggle between °C and °F. When the preset temperature is reached, the machine stops heating and sounds an alarm, which the brand says prevents overheating.

Different transfers need different settings. Sublimation, vinyl and transfer paper each have a recommended temperature, time and pressure, so follow the instructions that come with your materials.

Dual insulation

VEVOR says dual insulation keeps the shirt-press surface to 50-70 °C when the working temperature exceeds 210 °C, compared with up to 70-100 °C for traditional shirt irons. It adds that this steadies temperature during the transfer. The plate and the freshly pressed item still become hot, so handle them with care and follow the manual.

Operation in three steps

VEVOR describes the process as set, press and remove, simple enough for beginners. In practice, results come from getting temperature, time and pressure right for each material, and a test piece first is a common habit.

Size

The packed item measures about 19.3 x 15.4 x 18.1 in (49 x 39 x 46 cm) and weighs 37.9 lb (about 17.2 kg). It needs a sturdy table and a safe place for the swing arm to move through.

Who it suits

It suits hobbyists, small crafters and gift-makers who want a press for both flat garments and drinkware, and who value the extra reach of the pull-out drawer. It is aimed at home and small-scale use.

What to check before you buy

  • Platen size: a 15 x 15 in plate suits most adult T-shirt designs; check yours fits.
  • Attachments: confirm the tumbler and other attachments fit the items you plan to use.
  • Settings: check your transfer material's temperature and time against the 250 °C and 999 s limits.
  • Space and power: you need a stable table, clear space for the arm, and a suitable outlet.
  • Blanks: garments and mugs are typically sold separately.
  • Care: check the manual on cleaning and pad replacement.
