The VEVOR 15x15 Heat Press is a digital heat transfer machine for putting designs onto T-shirts, pillows, bags and other items. It has a 15 x 15 inch (38 x 38 cm) heating pad, a 1200W heater and a control panel for temperature and time. It suits crafters who want more even pressure and heat than a household iron gives.
How a heat press works
A heat press clamps a design against the fabric under heat and pressure for a set time. This activates the adhesive on heat transfer vinyl (HTV) or turns sublimation ink into a gas that bonds with a polyester-coated surface. In general, sublimation works best on light-coloured polyester or polymer-coated items, while HTV is used on cotton and blends. Check each transfer product's own instructions for temperature, time and pressure.
Platen size
The 15 x 15 inch platen is a common size, big enough for adult T-shirt designs, tote bags and pillow covers, and small enough for a craft table. VEVOR says the pad is made of silicone and sponge, with a service life of 20,000 hours, and that it heats quickly. The soft liner is intended to accommodate different material thicknesses and reduce odours in use. Items larger than the platen need to be pressed in sections.
Temperature and time controls
The digital board sets temperature from 0 to 482°F (0 to 250°C) and time from 0 to 999 seconds. Power is 1200W at 110V. VEVOR says an alarm sounds when the cycle ends, so you remember to lift the lid. Most vinyl and sublimation jobs fall well inside this range, but always follow the transfer maker's settings.
Pressure adjustment
A full-range knob adjusts pressure: turn clockwise to increase and counterclockwise to reduce. Thicker items, such as bags or pillows, need the gap and pressure adjusted. VEVOR suggests trying a few test presses to find the right setting. A non-slip rubber grip is included on the handle.
Teflon coating
The platen has a Teflon coating. VEVOR says it lowers the surface temperature to a comfortable feel, is less prone to scratches, and helps prevent clothing from sticking to the platen. Heat presses still get very hot, so keep hands clear, use protective sheets as the transfer instructions advise, and follow the manual.
Materials and projects
VEVOR lists cotton, cloth, HTV, ceramics, glass, fabrics, flax and nylon, and suggests T-shirts, pillows, bags and phone cases as uses. Flat, heat-tolerant items work best. Items such as ceramics generally need special coatings and often a different press shape, so check what suits a flat platen.
Size and weight
The machine measures 25.6 x 15.7 x 13.9 inches (about 65 x 40 x 35 cm) and weighs 39.7 lb (about 18 kg). Plan a stable, heat-safe table or bench with space for the lid to open.
Who it suits
It suits hobbyists, small print-on-demand sellers and anyone making gifts and custom clothing. Those pressing in volume or on odd shapes may need a larger or specialised machine.
What to check before you buy
- Item size: confirm your usual designs fit within 15 x 15 inches.
- Transfer type: check whether you'll use HTV, sublimation or both, and the settings each needs.
- Power: a 1200W, 110V machine should have its own suitable outlet.
- Workspace: allow for 40 lb and clearance above and around it.
- Thickness: check how the pressure knob copes with thicker items.
- Protection: keep a heat-resistant mat, sheets and gloves handy.
