The VEVOR 11-piece air spray gun set is a kit for painting with compressed air. It bundles three guns with different nozzle sizes, plus the regulator, separator and small parts needed to run them from an air compressor. It is aimed at jobs from car panels to furniture, fences and garden items.

What an air spray gun does

An air spray gun uses a stream of compressed air to break liquid paint into a fine mist, which gives a smoother, more even finish than a brush or roller. The size of the nozzle determines how much material flows. In general, smaller nozzles suit thin coatings and detail work, while larger ones suit thicker materials.

The three nozzle sizes

The set includes two full-size guns and one detail gun, with nozzles of 1.0 mm, 1.4 mm and 1.8 mm, and cups of 1000 cc. VEVOR says this range handles basecoats, clearcoats, primers and water-based paint. As a general guide, finer nozzles are used for thin basecoats and clearcoats, and bigger ones for primers and heavier coatings, but check the paint maker's data sheet for the recommended size.

Regulator, gauge and separator

The kit adds an air regulator with a pressure gauge. Spray guns work best at the pressure the maker specifies, so being able to read and adjust it is useful. An oil-water separator is also included. Compressed air carries moisture and sometimes oil, and a separator helps keep it out of the paint. VEVOR says the sealed design is meant to prevent air, oil and paint leaks.

What is in the box

VEVOR lists:

  • 3 spray guns with cups
  • 1 air regulator with pressure gauge
  • 1 oil-water separator
  • 3 wrenches
  • 1 cleaning brush
  • 3 net filters
  • 3 connectors
  • 1 roll of tape
  • 1 manual

Build and controls

The gun body is forged aluminium with a precisely machined air cap set, and the nozzles are stainless steel. A pivoting trigger and an ergonomic grip are intended to reduce hand fatigue. Control knobs let you adjust the output, and VEVOR notes the guns can be cleaned with suitable cleaning agents and thinners. The set weighs about 6.0 lb (2.7 kg) and its box measures roughly 6.9 x 6.9 x 14.4 inches.

Who it suits

It suits hobbyists and workshops that paint cars, machines, furniture, fences or walls and already own or plan to use an air compressor. These guns need a compressor with enough output; check the air consumption in the manual.

What to check before you buy

  • Compressor: confirm your compressor's pressure and airflow meet the guns' needs.
  • Fittings: check that the connectors match your air hose.
  • Coating type: match the nozzle size to the paint's recommended setting.
  • Safety gear: use a suitable respirator, eye protection and ventilation, and follow the paint maker's instructions.
  • Cleaning: clean the guns right after use, since dried paint is hard to remove.
  • Practice: try test passes on scrap material before the real job.
