The Veise KS02B is a matte black door lock set that combines a fingerprint and keypad deadbolt with two lever handles. It is intended for a front door that needs both a handle and a deadbolt, and it replaces the usual keyed hardware with a lock that responds to fingerprints, codes or a key. Here is what it offers, and what to measure and check before buying.

Four ways to unlock

Veise calls this a 4-in-1 lock: fingerprints, passwords, one-time codes and keys. The fingerprint sensor is described as identifying a print within 0.3 seconds and unlocking within one second, with a 99.99% recognition rate. Those are the brand's own figures. Keep in mind that fingerprint readers can be less reliable with very wet, dry or worn fingertips, which is one reason the code and key options are useful.

One-time codes are meant for visitors, and a key remains as a fallback if the batteries run out.

Auto-lock and one-touch lock

You can set the lock to engage automatically 10 to 99 seconds after the door shuts. To lock from outside, press and hold any key for two seconds. From inside, a rotatable knob locks or unlocks the deadbolt in about one second. Together these make it easy to leave the house without handling a key.

Certification and weather resistance

The listing states ANSI Grade 3 certification. In the ANSI/BHMA system, grades run from 1 to 3 and Grade 3 is the lightest-duty level, commonly used on residential doors. It is also rated IP54, which generally means protection from dust ingress and splashing water, and Veise says it withstands temperatures from -31°F to 158°F (about -35°C to 70°C). A wide range matters in cold climates, where battery performance can drop, so check the manual for guidance.

Power

Four AA batteries power the lock, and Veise says they last more than a year. Actual life depends on how often the lock is used and on temperature. Replace batteries when the lock warns you, and have a spare set in the house.

Handles and finish

The set includes two lever handles in matte black. Levers are easier to operate than round knobs for people with limited grip strength, children carrying things or anyone with full hands. Make sure the finish and handing suit your door and the hardware nearby.

Fit and installation

Veise says it is compatible with standard American doors, both left- and right-handed, and can be installed and programmed with a screwdriver in a few minutes. The listed dimensions are 3.5 x 7.2 x 11.0 inches. Check your door thickness, hole size and backset against the manual, and follow its steps and local building codes. Veise states phone support on weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM Pacific time and email service at any hour.

Who it suits

It suits homeowners who want a combined handle and fingerprint deadbolt, families who share a door, and hosts who want to give out temporary codes. It is a standalone lock: the listing does not describe app control.

What to check before you buy

  • Door preparation: thickness, bore hole and backset.
  • Handle fit: this is a set with handles; confirm it matches your door and the side it opens.
  • Batteries: four AA batteries; confirm whether they are in the box.
  • Climate: if your door is exposed to harsh weather, read the manual's guidance.
  • Rules: follow the manual and local codes, particularly for doors that form part of an escape route.
