The ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Twin Edge (model ZT-D40720E-10M) is a graphics card built on NVIDIA's Ada Lovelace architecture. ZOTAC designed the Twin Edge for wider build compatibility, with a compact two-slot body. Here is what its specifications mean for a gaming or creative PC.
The GPU and memory
The card uses an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER GPU with 7,168 CUDA cores and 12GB of GDDR6X memory on a 192-bit bus, running at 21Gbps. In general terms, the memory amount affects how large textures and scenes can be before performance drops, while the bus width and speed set how quickly data moves. ZOTAC lists a boost clock of 2475 MHz in the feature list and 2490 MHz in the longer specification, so check the product page for the figure that applies.
DLSS 3 and ray tracing
ZOTAC highlights NVIDIA DLSS 3 and full ray tracing. DLSS uses AI to render games at a lower resolution and upscale them, and DLSS 3 adds frame generation, which creates extra frames. Ray tracing simulates the behaviour of light for more realistic reflections and shadows, at a cost in performance. Both depend on game support.
Displays and connections
The card has three DisplayPort 1.4a outputs and one HDMI 2.1a output, supports HDCP 2.3, and can drive up to four displays at once. ZOTAC calls it 8K ready and VR ready. Software support includes DirectX 12 Ultimate, Vulkan 1.3 and OpenGL 4.6 on 64-bit Windows 11 and Windows 10.
Cooling and design
ZOTAC's IceStorm 2.0 cooling combines a heatsink with composite heatpipes and two 90mm fans. FREEZE Fan Stop switches the fans off at low load, and Active Fan Control adjusts speed with temperature. A metal backplate adds rigidity, and SPECTRA RGB lighting is included for those who want it. The FireStorm utility handles tuning and lighting.
Size and slot space
The card is 234.1 mm (9.2 in) long, 123.5 mm (4.9 in) tall and two slots wide (40.2 mm). That is short for a modern high-performance card, which helps in smaller cases.
Power requirements
ZOTAC lists 220 watts maximum power consumption and recommends a 750-watt power supply. The card takes one 12VHPWR connector, and the box includes a 2 x 8-pin-to-12VHPWR cable. Follow the manual for seating the connector fully, and use a power supply with enough capacity and the right cables.
In the box
The box holds the card, a user manual and the adapter cable described above.
Who it suits
It suits gamers and creators building or upgrading a PC, especially in a compact case, who want DLSS 3 and ray tracing at common resolutions.
What to check before you buy
- Case clearance: compare the card's length, height and two-slot width with your case.
- Power supply: confirm it meets the recommended wattage and can supply the connector via the included adapter.
- Motherboard slot: the card uses PCI Express 4.0 x16, which fits standard x16 slots.
- Monitor inputs: check your displays use DisplayPort or HDMI.
- Software: install current drivers and check the support page for updates.
