The Reolink TrackMix PoE is a pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) security camera for outdoor use. It pairs two lenses in one body: a wide-angle lens that sees the whole scene and a telephoto lens that zooms in on detail. It is powered and connected through a single network cable using Power over Ethernet (PoE).
Two lenses, one screen
Reolink pairs a 2.8 mm wide-angle lens with an 8 mm telephoto lens. The wide lens gives a panoramic view, while the telephoto captures close-up detail. Both views appear on one screen. In general, a wide lens helps you watch a large area, and a longer lens is what lets you read details such as a number plate at distance.
Auto tracking and 6X hybrid zoom
The wide-angle lens follows a subject as the camera pans and tilts, while the telephoto lens zooms in. Reolink calls this 6X hybrid zoom, and says the close-up view delivers 2MP or 4K automatically. Hybrid zoom typically combines optical and digital methods. The camera offers three tracking modes. The mechanics cover 355° of pan and 90° of tilt.
Smart detection and playback
The camera detects and follows people, vehicles and pets. Saved recordings can be replayed and filtered by detection type, with a timeline control for finding moments quickly. Reolink states no subscription is needed for this.
Alerts
When motion is detected, spotlights and a siren can be triggered, and push or email notifications are sent to your device.
PoE power and connection
One network cable carries both data and power, which keeps installation tidy. Reolink states an IEEE 802.3af PoE switch, a PoE injector or a Reolink PoE NVR is required and not included. If you use a Reolink NVR with hardware versions H3MB18, N2MB02 or N3MB01, the brand says to update to the latest firmware to see dual-lens viewing on the NVR's monitor.
Size
The camera measures 9.0 x 5.8 x 4.3 inches (about 23 x 15 x 11 cm).
What to check before you buy
- Whether you already have a PoE switch, injector or NVR, since none is included.
- Cable run length from your network equipment to the mounting spot.
- Mounting location: a place with clear views, within reach of the cable and not pointed at neighbours' property. Check local privacy rules.
- Storage: how you will record, such as an NVR or memory card, and how long you need to keep footage.
- Firmware on any existing Reolink NVR.
- Follow the manual and local codes for outdoor wiring.
