The REOLINK TrackFlex Floodlight WiFi combines a pan-and-tilt security camera with a bright LED floodlight in one hardwired unit. Two lenses work together: a wide-angle lens for the overview and a tracking lens that zooms in on movement. It is meant for driveways, front and back yards and pet areas.

Dual lenses and 6x hybrid zoom

The wide-angle lens records in 4K and covers a broad field of view. The second, tracking lens uses 6x hybrid zoom to capture close-ups and distant detail. Hybrid zoom generally combines optical and digital methods, so quality at the highest zoom is typically lower than at the widest view.

Pan, tilt and auto-tracking

The camera pans 355° and tilts 50°. REOLINK says it uses AI recognition and 270° PIR (passive infrared) detection to spot people, vehicles and animals, even outside the current view, then turn and lock onto them. This lets one camera follow a subject across a yard rather than catching only a part of the movement.

REOLINK says AI analysis and search run locally on the device, with no additional fees. You can type a description such as "person wearing a hat" to search stored alarm footage. Searching by description is useful when you have hours of recordings and know roughly what you are looking for.

Storage options

The camera supports microSD cards up to 512GB, Reolink NVR, Reolink Home Hub or Home Hub Pro, and FTP or NAS. It supports 24/7 continuous recording. Footage stays in local storage without a required cloud subscription or monthly fee. The listing notes that NVR compatibility is via Wi-Fi only, and that it is not a PoE camera.

The floodlight

A 3000-lumen LED floodlight and infrared light provide night illumination. Settings include adjustable brightness, colour temperature, timed on/off and low-brightness mode. Lumens measure total visible light output: 3000 lumens is a strong light intended to cover a yard or driveway.

Wi-Fi 6 and installation

The camera uses dual-band Wi-Fi 6 for a faster, steadier connection and 4K live view. It is hardwired within an AC 100-240V range and, according to REOLINK, fits most household junction boxes. Mains wiring is a job for a qualified electrician where local codes require it. Follow the manual and local electrical codes.

Who it suits

It suits homeowners who have a junction box or existing outdoor light position and want one device for lighting, wide coverage and close-ups. It is less suited to places without mains wiring nearby.

What to check before you buy

  • Mains connection: confirm a suitable junction box and that the installation meets local codes.
  • Wi-Fi signal: check the strength at the mounting spot; a 5GHz band is needed for the full Wi-Fi 6 benefit.
  • Light spill: consider neighbours when setting floodlight brightness and timing.
  • Storage: decide between a microSD card, NVR, Home Hub or network storage.
  • Not PoE: it needs mains power and Wi-Fi.
  • Privacy and local rules: check rules on recording public areas or neighbouring property.

The short version

  • A hardwired 4K dual-lens pan-and-tilt camera with a 3000-lumen floodlight.
  • 355° pan, 50° tilt, 6x hybrid zoom and automatic tracking.
  • AI search runs on the device; storage via microSD up to 512GB, NVR, Home Hub or NAS.
  • Dual-band Wi-Fi 6; not a PoE camera.
  • Wiring should follow the manual and local electrical codes.
