The REOLINK Elite Floodlight WiFi combines an outdoor security camera with a bright adjustable floodlight in a single hardwired unit. It uses two lenses stitched into a 180° panoramic picture at 4K (8MP), and it connects over dual-band Wi-Fi 6. It is aimed at covering a driveway, yard or entrance from one mounting point.

A 180° view from two lenses

Instead of a single wide-angle lens, REOLINK uses dual lenses whose images are stitched together. The brand says this gives a true 180° panoramic view with no blind spots. A wider field of view typically means fewer cameras are needed to cover a space, though stitched images can show subtle differences at the join. At 8MP, there is more detail to zoom into than on a 1080p camera.

What 3000 lumens means in practice

REOLINK rates the floodlights at 3000 lumens, lighting up to 40 feet (about 12 metres). Lumens measure total light output, so this is a strong outdoor light. The brightness is adjustable, and the colour temperature can switch between 3000K warm light and 6000K cool light. Warm light typically looks softer around a home, while cool white is closer to daylight. REOLINK says the lighting also improves colour night vision.

Detection, zones and alarms

The camera detects people, vehicles and animals. You can draw custom detection areas using Virtual Fence, Zone Intrusion or Zone Linger settings. When motion is detected, the floodlight switches on, and the camera can sound a 105 dB siren or play a pre-recorded voice warning. Alerts go to your phone. Filtering by type usually reduces notifications triggered by passing animals or shadows.

Storage options

Recording runs 24/7 to a microSD card of up to 512GB (sold separately), a REOLINK NVR, or a REOLINK Home Hub or Home Hub Pro. The camera also supports FTP, NAS, RTSP and ONVIF. REOLINK says no monthly fee is required for these options.

Wi-Fi and installation

The camera has 2.4/5GHz dual-band Wi-Fi 6. It is hardwired, accepts 100–240V AC and, according to REOLINK, fits most household junction boxes. Initial setup uses a 5V/2A power adapter (not included) with the included USB-C cable; after setup you move it to mains power. The IP65 level means protection against dust and water jets, and the mount supports ceiling or wall installation with adjustable light panels and camera angles. REOLINK notes that a pinkish image can be fixed with the latest firmware. Mains wiring should follow local electrical codes and the manual, and a qualified electrician is the usual choice if you are unsure.

Who it suits

It suits homeowners who want a single unit that provides light, a wide view and local recording over Wi-Fi, especially where a hardwired light fitting already exists.

What to check before you buy

  • Wiring: confirm you have a junction box or suitable mains wiring where you will mount it.
  • Wi-Fi coverage: check signal strength at the mounting spot.
  • Storage: a microSD card is sold separately, so decide how you will record.
  • Mounting height and aim: the lights and lenses need clear sight lines.
  • Neighbours: consider where a bright floodlight and siren will point.
  • Privacy rules: check local rules about recording outdoors.
